Hebrews 2:1 says, "Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away."


Are you earnestly taking heed to the things you HAVE heard and DO know? God will call you to give account of what you do know and understand.


So many people are constantly "learning" but never applying what they hear. They just love to hear more things, the newest doctrine/insight, etc. Friends, don't just hear something, get convicted, and move on. Truly let God deal with you on things!


Slow down, meditate upon what you do know, let it take root and truly transform you/change you. Such a person is more precious to God than one who knows how to explain all theological mysteries but is never truly changed.

Well, "Santa" didn't come to our house today. He must have "known" that we are Christians and that he is not welcome! He must have "known" that we don't lie to people, especially our children. He must have "known" that we don't allow idols and God impostors in our house (omniscience, omnipresence, miracles, etc). 😀

I know, I know, our children have "missed out" on so much, right? They missed out on my wife and I lying to them for 7-10 years each. They missed out on their faith possibly being destroyed later on down the line, thinking that maybe we are lying to them about that too. And their imaginations will miss out on so much, because there aren't other things that they could use their imaginations on, right? And what will they ever do that will bring enjoyment and fun into their lives if they don't have an opportunity to "write to Santa" and live their lives as "nice boys and girls" in order to get good gifts from him?

Friends, Santa is a COUNTERFEIT "god." Don't deceive yourselves into believing that you are doing good for your child or that this "Santa" nonsense is "innocent." Lead your children in the Scriptures! Teach them to live lives that are pleasing to GOD, because He IS watching and will reward them according to their works, whether good or evil. Teach them to look forward to COMING OF JESUS. Teach them to be content with what they have, instead of covetous.

16 years ago today, I went to the mall with my family. We saw "Santa Claus" with a huge line of children and parents waiting to get their picture taken with him. So, I asked my son (6 years old at that time) a couple of questions:

1) How would you feel if I lied to you about something, for about 7-10 years straight?
2) Can a man fly around the world in a sleigh, being pulled by flying reindeer, giving presents to all the "good children" in one night?
3) Where do liars go?

And here were his answers:

1) Very sad
2) NO
3) Hell Fire

I really have a hard time with parents who will lie to their children about Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, etc. all for the sake of "fun." God forbid I ever lie to my children about ANYTHING. Of course, I tell my children the truth about Santa. They have no attraction to him whatsoever. Instead, when they see a "Santa Claus," they want to give him a gospel tract. I have to give an account to God for everything I say, especially to the "little ones" (Matt. 18:6). And so will the rest of the parents in the world...
