Friends, Eternal Life is not simply a matter of having a list of do's and don't's that you check off. Eternal Life is KNOWING Jesus Christ and the one who sent Him (the Father). Of course, from that relationship will flow doing certain things and not doing other things. And if those do's and don't's aren't present in your life, it is a sure sign that you DON'T KNOW HIM.
Yet, the question still remains - DO YOU KNOW HIM? Do you spend time with Him, in prayer? Do you listen to Him, in prayer? Do you spend time in His Word (the Bible)? Failure to "get to know Jesus & the Father" and failure in your devotional life, will = failure as a Christian. You won't make it. He is the LIFE SOURCE for us to live Holy and be successful (in His eyes) in this life.
Many people know all ABOUT Jesus and the Father...but they don't ACTUALLY KNOW HIM. Don't let that be you, friends. It doesn't matter how "busy" your day is or how many "things you have to get done", God comes FIRST.
And this type of lifestyle will take MUCH DISCIPLINE. You must take up your cross and deny yourself daily. It may be that the things that try to distract you or hinder you from KNOWING GOD, are not necessarily "sinful" things. BUT, often times it is the "good" that is the greatest enemy of the BEST.
So, be vigilant. Don't get distracted. Take up your cross and deny yourself daily. Be on the watch for the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to kill, steal and destroy. He would love for you to go to Hell with him. Yet, He who is in you (if you truly are a Christian), is greater than he who is in the world!

Pharaoh is a perfect picture of false repentance and worldly sorrow (Exodus 7-14). When his sin caused him trouble or brought God's judgment upon his life, he would "repent" and even ask Moses to pray for him. As soon as everything was "in the clear" and there was no more trouble/judgment, he went right back to his sinning.
If this describes your kind of "repentance," then you need to repent of your "repentance" and truly get right with God. Otherwise, your worldly sorrow is going to lead to death - 2 Corinthians 7:10. Such "repentance" will NEVER lead to salvation. We have God's Word on it!
