Howdy, Howdy!

On this first Monday of 2026, I want to share that I am currently editing videos that I hope you'll love.

Many are based on my work as a Family History Center (FamilySearch Center) volunteer, and others are based on my own family history preservation efforts.

One was using ‪@kindexarchive‬ and Lulu.com to convert my handwritten journals into published books. Another is using the same tools to convert Andy's mission journals, letters, and other writings into a MASSIVE multi-volume book. He's currently editing those, but the speed with which I accomplished this goal with the technology of today is unreal.

So please be sure to look for me responding to comments y'all have left during my research sabbatical.

But also, when I returned from the Baltics this summer, I was rocked to my core by the questions of genealogy ethics. I will share a video about this later this month. It's the real reason I had trouble making videos. I think I'll also have a Member Only live stream where we can dig into this topic as well. Stay tuned. This week, when I'm not exercising, I'll be scheduling and editing videos.

Family History Fanatics

On ‪@familysearch‬, I have contributed over 10,000 sources to the One World Family Tree. Why? Because FamilySearch has an ADDICTING!!!!!! Global Hinting Campaign that invites us to help expand the family tree worldwide. Granted, I only speak English, so I can't help the world as a whole, but if you've been wondering why I haven't been posting videos.

Family History Fanatics

Howdy fans. Andy and I have returned from our European vacation, where we competed in two wife-carrying competitions.

The first was in Lithuania, where we fell just short of the finish line, slapped our hands to finish, and took 5th (see sandy finish). We received a huge prize package for our placement (gray track suits).

The second was in Finland for the World Championship.
In the Sprint, we finish last after an agonizing fall.
In the team event, Devon was the carried wife and Team USA finished 5th.
In the main event, the 40+ Division, Andy and Devon took 3rd place.

Now that we've returned, we'll resume responding to comments and creating more videos. What have you done on your vacation this summer (or winter for those fans below the equator)?

The Team Competition will be
Sat, July 5 at 1 pm Finnish Time or 6 AM EDT / 4 AM MDT, Andy will be in this event on the team "Bonnie and the Jetts" representing Team USA.


The Main Event will be:
On Saturday, July 5, at 3 pm Finnish Time or 8 AM EDT / 6 AM MDT, Andy and Devon will compete in this event wearing matching USA-themed outfits (just in case you don't understand Finnish).

It's a mixed event, with the main series and the senior competitors running 2x2. Hopefully, we'll be in the Top Three for the 40+ folks.
