💡 New Atomic Phonics lesson — The Orb Reading Game!

Three glowing orbs, one letter at a time, and the short I sound lights up
green in the middle. Watch the orbs merge into a whole word: sit, sip, pin,
tip, pit.

The middle sound is where most new readers get stuck, so we color it. Pause
before the orbs come together and let your child blend the three sounds
themselves.

Already watched the Short A rockets? This is the next vowel — and the two
are the ones kids mix up most.

reader sounds out the word. Seven short A words to blend: sat, pat, nap,
sap, pan, tan, tap.

This is the step right after letter sounds, where kids stop naming letters

Why does "miss" have two s's but "bus" only has one? 🐝

There's a rule for that, and it's called the FLOSS Rule.

If a one-syllable word has a short vowel and ends in f, l, s, or z,
you double that final letter. Off. Bell. Grass. Buzz.
