We are saddened to hear of the passing of Yayoi Kusama, one of the most influential and recognisable artists of our time.
As part of the Crossrail Art Programme, her work has become part of London’s landscape through “Infinite Accumulation”, her first permanent public artwork in the UK, unveiled at Liverpool Street station in 2024.
She also created a memorable Pocket Tube Map artwork cover with Art on the Underground in 2011, titled “Polka Dots Festival in London”.
As millions of people pass through London, her work continues to invite us to pause, look, and see the city and ourselves differently.
We are honoured that London will continue to be home to one of Kusama’s most significant public works.
