There's always that "one" bird... elusive, rare (in your flyway), whatever it may be... they etch themselves into your soul and every time you cross paths with one the experience feels surreal.
For us it's wigeon. We NEVER saw them in our home flyway and even though they are more frequent in our current flyway they still garner a special respect when the dog brings one to hand.
