My weight loss journey: Day 5/27

Ever wondered why the scale isn’t your biggest cheerleader in your weight loss journey?
Let me share insights from my own 5-day weight loss journey.
Switching to whole foods from processed often shows an initial drop in weight due to losing water weight. But if, like me, you’re already on the whole foods train (except for that daily chocolate snack 🍫), the scale might not move immediately.
Why?
Because when you’re eating 1.2-2 grams of protein per kilogram of your goal weight and lifting heavy in the gym, you’re potentially building muscle.
And, guess what?
One kilogram of muscle equals one kilogram of fat.
So, here’s the catch:
The scale might play it cool, but you could be on a journey of muscle gain and fat loss.
The real magic lies in patience.
Body composition transformation is a gradual process. I’m not relying solely on the scale. I’ve got body measurements and progress photos for data collection. (Even though there is not much of a difference showing in the photos, my body is changing slowly, keep watching).
Daily weigh-ins might seem excessive, but it’s how I hold myself accountable. You can go for twice a week, but daily check-ins help me see beyond the number. It’s just data, not my self-worth.
Yes, I kicked off this 27-day challenge in the midst of my busiest month. Why?
Because there’s never a perfect time to start.
