NEW FANS: 52" Forever Fan "KT-9237" and Hunter Infiniti Ceiling Fans in White. Both came from Facebook Marketplace for free. I mainly went only for the Forever Fan, but also went for the Infiniti anyways since it's a major childhood fan of mine. They apparently have another "KT-9237" in the living room with recessed lights and another Infiniti in the upstairs bedroom with wall sconces, but they kept those fans in the living room and upstairs bedroom since they already have light source in those rooms. As for the family room and the downstairs bedroom, they replaced it with fixtures that have a light for those rooms. All of them were flushmounted and came 100% complete other than missing screws on the canopy, which I have sourced to make it complete.

The "KT-9237" was manufactured by Top Union in August of 1992, uses a full-size Kontrust K55-type motor with a 4/5 blade rubber flywheel, reversible Gloss White/Gloss Bleached Oak blades, 14 degree blade pitch, 3 speed pullchain using a triple-capacitor setup on the PC board, and electrically reversible. This fan needs to have its bearings replaced. For some reason when I tried to loosen or remove the setscrew on the flywheel, it won't budge nor slide off the rotor shaft. Will be using 2 flathead screwdrivers once I get into doing bearing replacement. The switch housing was assembled by sliding it over the shaft, placing a snap ring on the shaft, and a setscrew on the switch housing is held down onto the shaft. The PC board is similar to Casablanca's Delta PC boards. It uses a Zing Ear 208D pullchain with solder lugs only operating the L-1, L-2, L-3 sequence.

The Infiniti was manufactured in the 2nd quarter of 1993, uses a 5 blade only 172x12-15mm motor, Gloss White blades, 12 degree blade pitch, 3 speed pullchain using a triple-capacitor setup, and electrically reversible. As per usual with typical sellers, the blades HAD to be installed after removing the fan. Being at work, I didn't think about bringing a screwdriver with me earlier on. So I went to ACE hardware a few minutes from my workplace after I got out and went to the seller's house. However, when I was trying to remove the switch housing to get access to remove the blades, the last screw was so stubborn that it didn't want to come off. I had no choice but to open the motor housing and puncture the vent screen to remove the blades from the blade arms while removing the screw on the blade arms closest to the switch housing. Lost one screw, but oh well. I had one spare to use. After I got home, I used a right-angled ratchet and a #2 Philips bit to remove the last screw from the switch housing, but I ended up replacing the whole switch housing screws just for an abundance of not wanting the head stripped. Upon reassembling the motor housing, I also noticed that one of the screws had its threads stripped, so I used a tap and die set to rethread the screw. The reverse switch only worked on updraft, so I dabbed it with WD-40 contact cleaner and called it a day.

Since the Infiniti is a major childhood fan for mine, a neighbor next to me has one in Bright Brass, Peace Lutheran Church has 4 in Antique Brass, The Refinery before Swing State Boxing Club took over has 3 in Gloss Black and is still there after the new business took over. Very pleased with having not only my first Forever Fan, but my first Kontrust K55-type fan and the childhood fan I've wanted for a very long time even though the aforementioned finishes are more childhood to me than the White one.

Adin's Corner of Fans and Other Things 2004

So I wasn't planning on uploading it, but here it is. The 52" Casablanca Delta in Charcoal Black from 1983 that had a death wobble with original B45 Antique Oak blades because one of them is lighter than the rest. This video is only short because I didn't want to get hit by the blades.

50/52" Modern Fan Company Cirrus (Short) from April of 2004 that ‪@CeilingFanz‬ alerted me back in January. Used a 350 light from the 2017 unit and the 352/353/354 light kit for the purpose of testing. The bottom end bell is similar to the ones used in GE motors, an the top end bell resembles older Emerson K55s used on Casablancas with 6005zz bearings. Screws on the motor were swapped as I accidentally damaged one of the screw heads.

I love a good freebie even though I had to pay for shipping. 140x33mm Casablanca XLP2100 motor from February of 2001 with its proprietary 11uf RMM4 board from ‪@CeilingFansFans‬. This will be used as a test motor as I'm always on the lookout to repair InteliTouch boards unless I can find parts from a Cathay, Mission, or Nouvelle to make a complete fan. Note the mislabeled "XLP2100" as it says "XLP2101". The top end bell has a sticker that's from a Metropolitan II, meaning the top end bell came from an XLP2000 given that the 2100 and Plus motors used the same top end bell like the 2000. Now all I just gotta find is a W33 control.

Adin's Corner of Fans and Other Things 2004

To celebrate the 9-year anniversary and 1200 subscribers of this channel, we have a special treat. 52" Casablanca Delta in Charcoal Black from September 28, 1983. Was the 119th fan made on that day. I originally intended to use the B45 Antique Oak blades, but it had a death wobble due to one of the blades being lighter than the rest and a bent blade arm. Had to use B15C Walnut with Cane blades from the 1984 Bright Brass Delta and bent the blade arm back into alignment and it helped cut down on the wobble a lot. 10uf start capacitor was replaced as the original one had drifted and its high speed current draw was a bit low than what it's supposed to be drawing. I also went to replace the speed capacitors just because I'm a bit fussy with having the values being close or match up with the expected value. As for replacing the bearings that were glued shut on both end bells of the motor, I went on using PB-blaster in lieu of a blowtorch on both the old bearings to hammer out the bottom end bell from bottom bearing, used bearing puller to remove bottom bearing, and using a blind bearing puller to remove top bearing from top end bell. Really satisfied with a smooth and quiet operation. The wires in the motor had butt connectors upon replacing the bearings.

Replacing bearings on a 1980 - 1986 Emerson K55 Casablanca fans are NOT done the same way as an Astrosyn K55 or a 1987 - 2013 K55/XLP Casablanca. 1980 - 1986 Emerson K55 Casablancas are the world's worst era of fans to replace bearings on since they're glued shut on both end bells of the motor. Watch how I replace bearings on a 1983 Emerson K55 Casablanca that has bearings glued shut on both end bells on the motor. This is NOT intended to be a how-to video, I only recorded it just to see if I managed to replace bearings on a 1980 - 1986 Emerson K55 with bearings doused with adhesive.

Bearings are stuck shut on one or both sides of the end bell on a Casablanca K55/XLP or K63 motor? Not a problem! Blind/internal bearing pullers are your best friend when it comes to dealing with bearings stuck on one or both sides of the end bell of the motor. Heat torch is recommended should bearings be too stubborn to remove.
