Trouble With Comments Again July 18, 2024

Hey guys. Gonna upload some videos again soon. My last unboxing videos the stupid comments kept closing. I want to hear from you so if that happens keep checking back. I'll keep reopening them as much as I can. Eventually they stayed open. We went plane spotting yesterday at Tampa International Airport. And Chris bought me new models. We had a great lunch afterwards at Red Lobster and just had a great day.

New Incubator And More Eggs March 18, 2023

Late Happy St. Patrick's everyone. Hope everything was as green as a budgie for you all. I have exciting news. I'm so happy I can't wait. As I mentioned in one of my other videos Chris bought me a new incubator. It's a Nurture Right 360 that holds 22 chicken eggs. Some of you might not know but there is a chicken shortage going on. I raise chickens for fun and for pets. I'm glad I placed my order when I did last year as everything was still fine. But you know how I have not been able to find those Swedish Flower Hens. I figured I'd add them to my order later in the year. I've done that before. But they never came back even on restock dates like mid Feb. That's when I found out about the shortage and all the hatcheries selling out for the year. Places like feed stores and tractor supplies that sell out in a day or less. So I've had to resort to buying hatching eggs before people figure that out and there will soon be an incubator shortage. I'm predicting that to be the next problem. I 'd like to get two more incubators but can't afford it so far. I am slightly worried about ending up with so many chickens, but with how things are I may be able to quickly sell the chicks. If you guys end up with roosters on accident like I did, keep them no matter what. Hide them in your basements and garages if you have to so you can breed the next generation. Anyway here is a pic of my new incubator. My eggs are scheduled to come Monday. I hope so. I'll be getting 6 Swedish Flower Hens and 6 Silver Barnevelders. Again praying for the unlikely case of mostly females. I should keep one roo. But what breed? Marans, Barnevelder or Flower Hen. I should hatch my own flock's eggs at some point too. I'd like to hatch the Salmon Faverolles but they still are laying eggs that are too small.

Early Christmas At Our Parents Dec 19, 2022
Wanted to share a pic my mil took of Olive at her house. They are going up north for Christmas so we had Christmas early. Olive got a bunch of gifts. I've been working so hard to get that left ear to stand up. It's been staying so please pray that it's over with. I've been posting the ear for six months. We're all sick of it. But I refuse to have half a dog. Her face is too pretty to have a floppy ear.

Ok second photo is of my hens lining up to use the nest. Notice there are three nests. More than enough to go around. But chickens pick one fave and ignore all others. The hen in the nest is Ahab. She's never laid an egg so I can't wait to find out what color it will be. The site says her breed lays mint green eggs, but you never know with the Easter Egger gene.
Man I hate that you can't see the full sized photos. It forces them into a stupid square. It didn't even save my settings as I adjusted the preview.

Progress On Coop Nov 6, 2022

It's been a while since I posted here. I am still working on my coop. Started the egg hutch an got far with it today. Just don't have plywood. I've been following the tutorials from Emergency Prepper Guy. Thanks for the helpful videos. Here are some photos of what is going on so far. I plan to have a video hopefully soon.

My Chickens Hatch Tomorrow June 26, 2022
I placed an order for a new flock of chicks at the beginning of the year. They will be hatching and shipping tomorrow June 27. I have the brooder ready to go for them. Here's what I'm getting.

2 Blue Favacaunas (Salmon Faverolle crossed with easter egger I think)
2 Blue Easter Eggers
1 Green Queen bantam
1 Blue Splash Marans
1 Barred Rock
2 Salmon Faverolles

The bantam was a mistake. I didn't notice until after I had paid. The standard size was sold out. Oh man, so that means I'll have one tiny hen in the flock. I said I will allow for substitutions if these particular hens don't hatch. That means I might get something other than what's on the list. Basically a lot of "blue" chickens. And white.

I started to get sick yesterday. It was a mild sore throat that got worse. I might be allergic to dogs. I've always been very sensitive to the smell. I wanted a doberman because the ones I've worked with didn't stink like dogs. I don't know why Olive is so smelly. I brush and wash her. Or it might just be a cold. Chris was sick for a few days and I took care of him. But this seems to have happened after a particularly smelly dog day. Or it might just be a mild cold. Those haven't just magically gone away people. The sore throat is the worst then I get weak and then strong then weak so in and out of bed a lot. Chris had this for like three days. I'm sure it will be the same here. Not worried. Just annoyed and more worried about the pets and plants I can't tend to while down. That's always the worst thing when I get sick. Posting Olive's Ears June 20, 2022

Late Happy Father's Day. Yesterday was nice. We took Olive to meet Chris's parents for the first time. Olive is a great car rider. She stays in the back and doesn't bother the driver, be it me or Chris. She does very well with people. She doesn't jump much. I've been working hard on her greeting people nicely. She's not so good with other dogs though as she's very rough and still does puppy biting. Luckily we have a neighbor friend that also has a doberman puppy that's two months older than Olive. Her name is Athena and she's a pure German doberman. Athena has put Olive in her place which Olive majorly needed. I've never seen Olive submit so it was time someone wooped her tail. Olive is very dominant. I'm sharing here some photos of Olive's ears. What they look like when the posts come off. Sometimes the they both stand. When they do I call her my fruit bat. The right is the best. The left ear falls. There's a pic of her on her bed posted. I will keep doing this for a few months and hope for the best. I missed the window to crop her ears. I had the money but the vet could afford was booked and we couldn't get in in time. The vets that weren't booked of course were super expensive. And there is a pic of Olive and Athena and Athena's owner's feet ha ha. Athena is the bigger dog on the left. Oh and in the pic of Olive in the bed. I'm annoyed she's been trying to rip up her nice mattress. It's not a plush toy. I've had to take it away. I don't know how to make her stop trying to rip it. It's such a nice bed. Now she's just on the cot with no mattress. And that shark is her all time fave toy. We took it to meet Chris's parents.

New Puppy Tomorrow April 01, 2022

Hey everyone it's been a long time since I've post anything here. So much has gone on. I did go to Miami at the start of last month. It went well. I picked out a puppy and had an adventure. I got sick when I got home. I've been battling a tummy issue and been on medication for it. Please pray for me. I'm better but not fixed yet. Despite that I've tried to get the place ready. If I feel better I will try to make a more detailed post on my livejournal. Here is a pic of my dog Olive. We're going to Miami tomorrow to pick her up. It's a long 5 hour drive so we're staying over night at a pet friendly hotel then coming home the next morning. I just have not been well to make videos, community posts or livejournal posts. Mostly getting our house ready and taking care of the plants and current pets. Oh also my phone broke and had to get a new one. And my jeep lost one of its headlights. All this happened right after the trip so it's been stressful with so much going on. Man I really hate the way youtube has ruined photos here. They are square so you can't see the big picture. And when you click them you think you could, the full pic is smaller than the square preview and you can't see details. So dumb.

A Fool In April Apr 1, 2022

Morning everyone. Hope your online experience today won't be too annoying since so many sites do dumb things this day. I've never been one for practical jokes. I'm very serious. But I did want to share something to make you all laugh. Was checking my comments today and decided to approve what some fool said on my video "Mova Globes After Two Years" I took a screen cap in case he deletes his comment. I really hate the way youtube makes a full sized photo into a square. It's stupid. Let me know if you can't read it and I will post a link to the image directly. Anyway, the comment was by some loser named Clawer who makes comments without thinking or anything about the subject at hand. I was more than happy to smack him around. Usually I just reject comments like this and block the jerks. That way no one ever find out and my good members aren't harassed. Sometimes, like today, I make exceptions and allow this. Enjoy.

I Picked A Puppy March 7, 2022

Hi everyone. I'm back from Miami. I came back yesterday the 6th. I'm zonked form the stressful long drive. They puppies were so young. Hard to tell anything at that age. I hope I made the right choice. I was shown an older 9 week old pup. Not ready for that just yet. And I was shown two female 4 week olds. At that age all they want to do is suckle. They can barely walk. I looked at them for a while and chose the purple collar one because she was bigger and seemed "calmer". Of course nothing is sure at this age. The other one might be calmer older. Chris can get time off so we go back the first weekend of April to bring her home. Here is a pic of young Olive. So exciting. I'm still stressed and achy. I could barely move yesterday. If I have energy I'll try to make a quick video. I didn't get a lot of footage, mostly photos.

Thanksgiving or Fall Wreath Nov 22, 2021

This is my second wreath. I almost gave up half way through thinking it looked bad. It was Dollar Tree mesh. Then I got the pain in my hands, not from this but from having written too much almost two weeks ago. Luckily I am finally feeling much better. Thank you all for all the prayers. I finally finished this today and like how it turned out. It's 22 inches and was a Thanksgiving/birthday gift for a neighbor friends of mine.
