Our big news over here in Chicago is that our daughter Gwen came into this world fast and furiously a little over a month ago! 👶🏻🎉🤗👨👩👧
She is an absolute sweetheart, and we’re all living for our naps and snuggles together. Derek and I are definitely low on sleep, but we’re hanging in there and working on establishing our routines as a family of three. 🥰
I recently realized that I had announced her birth on my Means To Travel Facebook and Instagram, but I thought it might be important to share about it here as well!
With that, I also want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported my maternity leave from YouTube / Means To Travel so far, as well as supported my bereavement leave from the channel directly prior to that for the hospitalization and passing of Derek's mother.
These past few months that we've taken together as a family have been extremely precious and needed, and we are grateful.
But as Gwen's swaddle says in the last photo…adventure awaits!!! I'll be slowly releasing new content in the months to come! 🫶🏻💕

Today is my BIRTHDAY!!! 🥳🎈🎉
My trip around the sun over the past year was filled with aspects of the complete human experience. 💓
I've learned a lot, grown as a person, and bonded even deeper in many of my close relationships.
I've set priorities, learned coping strategies, practiced daily gratitude, and focused on things that nourish my mind, body, and spirit.

As I shared on my Instagram stories this week, I'm currently editing a travel vlog of Derek's solo flight to Europe this summer to meet me in Paris! So fun! 🙋🏻♂️✈️

Hey Travelers! Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!! (And happy Jubilee if you're from the UK!) 😎⛵
Derek and I are in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin celebrating the wedding of one of my very best friends on the planet! You might recognize her if you've been following my channel for a few years. 😉 And yes, Rachel is here with us, too!
We went on a beautiful boat ride around the lake yesterday to learn about the opulent mansions that this area is known for. (It's commonly called The Newport of the Midwest.) None of the three of us had been here before, so it's been fun to learn about a new place!
And just, wow! This lake and the surrounding community are truly stunning! It's easy to see why the Chicago industrialists all built their summer homes in this area!

All that said, there will not be a new video this weekend given how busy my schedule has become.

Quick update: I’m on a girls trip in New Mexico (this weekend is the bachelorette portion for one of my best friends, Brenna!), so I wanted to let you guys know that there won’t be a new video until next week.
