We can all safely assume that the unknown originator of this unofficial holiday aimed to encourage people to look their very best not just on their birthday but every day by sporting a hat they made from scratch.

Here are just a few ways to celebrate.
Make your using a variety of materials – wool, felt, paper, and cloth then have fun embellishing it.
Wear the special hat that you made to work on your birthday or to the park.

Today would have been Soul singing legend Amy Winehouse's 40th Birthday. Amy was a five-time Grammy Award winner and soul singing icon whose album, Back to Black, became the best-selling album of the twenty-first century in the UK. Amy sadly passed away in 2011 at the age of 27, her songs and voice earned her cult status and made her unforgettable.

FUN IN THE SUN! IT’S DAYLIGHT APPRECIATION DAY!
On June 21st, put on your sunscreen, sunglasses and flip-flops then step outdoors to enjoy some sun, because it is Daylight Appreciation Day!

Make time to connect with nature and the outdoors it helps reduce stress and promotes wellbeing. Even indoors, studies have shown that people who spend time in a room lit with bright sunlight tend to be happier than those who spend a lot of time under artificial lights.

June 8th is Best Friends Day, a day to celebrate your best friend and let them know how important they are to you.

Best friends are the best! They are the friends you can call up at any time of the day, laugh with for no reason at all, and confide in. They are there for you in all your good and bad times, they support you, validate all your good decisions and stop you from making wrong ones. In other words, without best friends, life would be very bleak indeed.


Whether you grew up with them or met them later in your life, let your best friend know that you cherish them on Best Friends Day.

How to Celebrate

While Repeat Day is definitely one of the more bizarre holidays out there, it needs very little preparation or effort to celebrate - all you need to do is repeat yourself ad infinitum!

LEAVE THE OFFICE EARLY DAY!
While we all love our jobs (yes we do), nothing is more relaxing and fun than leaving work just a bit earlier than you normally would. So today on June 2nd pack up your things and get out of the office earlier than usual because it is Leave The Office Earlier Day or Leave The Office Early Day.

This unofficial holiday is celebrated annually on June 2, unless it falls on a weekend and when it does you won’t miss out as the day moves to the following Monday!

Get out of the office early, but don’t forget to inform your managers and co-workers that you’ll be leaving early. The day encourages people to take some time on a workday for themselves and do things that relax them. Another plus side of leaving work early is you avoid peak traffic hours!

So leave the office early and do something fun that makes you happy since you are out earlier than usual. Especially if it also happens to be your BIRTHDAY!
