🏢 Shinra HQ is empty tonight. Two hours, from now.
Nobody signed in. The board in the lobby has not moved since the last car left the
carport, and the sheet at reception is blank for tonight.
One floor is still lit.
There are wet footprints on the emergency stairs going up. The lift indicator stopped
between floors and stayed there. On the roof the access door is open and there is a mug
on the railing, still where it was put down. Nobody logged any of it.
He is at one desk with the green screen in front of him, and he does not get up. The rain
does not stop. The city keeps most of its windows lit, and then, at some point in the
night, it does not.

This one is built differently.
Every session so far has been one room, held still for five hours. Tonight it is one
building — the carport, the lobby, the emergency stairs, the office floor, the roof — and
the night moves through all five and comes back to the seat. Two hours instead of five.
The picture keeps changing instead of holding.
It is the first one made this way, and I do not know yet if it is better.

A Shinra annex by the canal that was closed years ago. Every console on the wall is
boarded over. One seat was never logged, and the line to the city is still live.
He is in the chair with the cable in the back of his neck. The city is online all night.
None of it is for him.
Nothing arrives. Nobody comes to check the seat. Stay until it is light.

📡 The Shinra Relay Tower is open. Five hours, from tonight.
They took this tower out of service years ago. Nobody came to close the line, so the
receiver on the desk is still listening — five green needles drifting and settling,
over and over, because something on the other end is still transmitting.
Nothing ever answers back. That is not the same as being alone.
Up here the weather is below you. The rain is falling on the city, not on this room.

are seized, the timetable is peeling, the clock stopped a long time ago — and the track
diagram on the wall is still lit, still moving lamps along the line, one section at a
time, because nobody came to cut the power.
