COMMAND & CONQUER JUST WENT OPEN SOURCE.

Yea. Seriously. EA has posted Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, Renegade, and Generals - Zero Hour....all on Github.

Pretty huge. Can't wait to see what the community builds off of this.

Also, the following games are getting Steam Workshop support for custom maps, plus extra files to make modding easier.

As you may have heard, Monolith Productions was shut down by Warner Bros. games.

While it was most recently known for console titles like the Shadow of Mordor series, Monolith Productions has a deep history in PC gaming. I always felt that came across even in Shadow of Mordor...there's a systems-driven aspect to them that a lot of console games don't have.

Anyway, this is a super enlightening video if you want to learn more about the studio. I'm thinking I might throw together a retrospective in the next couple of weeks, too.
