I wrote Back To The Radio towards the end of 2019 at a time where I felt like a lot of things were coming that I wasn’t sure I knew how to handle. The song grew out of a feeling of intense loneliness and a strong desire to escape without knowing what I wanted to escape to. It’s about difficult platonic love, being in a band, and being overwhelmed. To me there’s a huge feeling of catharsis in this song, of letting go and letting it sweep you away. I’m so proud to finally share it, and so excited for you to hear this album.
Thank you to Tom Carmichael for mixing and co-producing this song with us, to Felix Davis for mastering it, to Freddy Wordsworth for the horns and Maria Marzaioli for the violin, and to my bandmates Sam Yardley, Maddie Ryall and Georgie Stott.
