​There is a huge mess going on between BLACKPINK and YG. YG is trying really hard to spread hate against BLACKPINK and sabotage them. Recently, for BLACKPINK's 10th anniversary, Dispatch released a statement claiming that BLACKPINK did not agree with YG's plans for the anniversary. YG reportedly planned a massive celebration, but the members refused it. However, the reality of this statement is that there were never any plans from YG at all. It is all a narrative designed to spread hate against BLACKPINK. If YG truly cared, they would have started preparing months ago, and insiders would have leaked information about YG's anniversary plans. But no, nothing like that happened. This means it is fake propaganda spread by YG to put the blame on BLACKPINK.
​Recently, the girls did live broadcasts where you could see that the cake and flowers were bought by Rosé, while Lisa kept repeating things as if she were trying to tell us that YG did nothing. Jennie appeared sad along with Jisoo. During the meet-and-greet, YG restricted fans from taking photos and videos, but Jisoo asked the fans to do it anyway. This means there is no communication happening between YG and BLACKPINK. If there were, why would Jisoo allow fans to take photos when YG explicitly refused? Jisoo and Rosé even seemed to cry in the car—particularly Jisoo, who rarely cries. This means a huge mess is coming soon. So, please don't let YG and his articles fool you. He will try to shape the narrative, and haters will play along with it too. Here are some questions and answers you all should read:
​1) The Deadline era is a mess. YG's fault. How?
​The Deadline album was delayed by YG many times. YG sent the BLACKPINK girls on tour before a proper comeback, and during that tour, there were huge production problems. Are you going to blame the girls for that? No. After the tour, Deadline was leaked, and no legal action was taken by YG. Deadline only has 5 songs, but BLACKPINK actually recorded more than 20 songs. Who cut that down? YG, not the girls. YG kept those leaked songs instead of giving the girls a choice. Who is to blame? YG. Therefore, the narrative that the girls refused to go into the studio falls apart. The girls stayed and recorded more songs; it was YG who selected fewer tracks and made it a mini-album. YG also made a statement claiming he wasn't expecting Deadline to sell more than 1 million copies. All of these things indicate that YG orchestrated this mess to generate hate toward the girls and make their group fail.
​2) The girls don't care?
​They do. Before anyone comes along and says they are the biggest group—mind you, even when BLACKPINK was fully under YG, they were still the biggest girl group in the world—YG simply didn't care. They gave them fewer songs. A whole narrative was built claiming the girls weren't interested in music and couldn't write songs, painting them as mere models. But when the girls left, they gave us many songs in just a span of a few years, all hit songs written by themselves. All of this proves that YG held them back. The girls couldn't control their group activities because they were under YG, who owns the trademarks. Why didn't BLACKPINK speak out about it? Well, BLACKPINK was under contract. You cannot publicly speak against your company without facing consequences, no matter how big you are.
​Mind you, BLACKPINK is a group that has never refused fans or stopped them from taking photos or getting autographs, no matter how tired they were. BLACKPINK is a group where each member gives luxurious items to their fans, unlike traditional K-pop groups that might just give food or basic merch. The BLACKPINK girls gave away Chanel, YSL, Dior, iPhones, and many other things. If BLACKPINK only cared about money, they would never spend it on BLINKs. Furthermore, BLACKPINK has made donations in the name of BLINKs.
​3) Are the girls more interested in solos than the group?
​No, they are interested in both. It was YG who wouldn't give them anything. Remember when the girls were under YG? He gave them comebacks only once every 2 or 3 years. In between those 2 or 3 years, the BLACKPINK members weren't allowed to do anything else except attend fashion shows. Because of this, they were called talentless, unable to write music, and just "Instagram models"—when in reality, YG was holding them back.
​After becoming free from YG, BLACKPINK released more songs as soloists and a group than they ever could under the label. BORN PINK was released in 2022, and the tour ended in 2023. The BLACKPINK girls started releasing solo music in 2024 and 2025. Now, Deadline was released in 2026 alongside a 2025 tour. You can clearly see it's still the same 2-to-3-year gap that BLACKPINK usually experienced under YG. Everything is the same. The only difference is that back then, the girls weren't allowed to do anything except attend fashion shows during those gaps, whereas now, those gaps are filled with solo music.
