For over 20 years, it has explored the meeting point between East and West, weaving vintage synthesizers, field recordings, and traditional influences into compositions that feel both intimate and cinematic.
Rooted in the emotions, colors, and philosophies of Japanese culture, the project has released 16 albums that have reached millions of listeners worldwide. From Kyoto’s quiet temples to Okinawa’s sunlit shores, each work offers a journey through atmospheres where time seems to slow and contemplation takes center stage.
Recognized for its ability to merge cultural heritage with contemporary sound design, The Kyoto Connection has become a unique voice in the global ambient scene — an invitation to travel inward through music.

A dream made possible thanks to 400+ supporters from around the world who have donated to our project since 2008! Thank you!
Our tour includes:

✅ Meetups with friends, artists and creative collaborations.
✅ A music video in Kyoto.
✅ Sharing our experiences as independent musicians and our creative philosophy with everyone we meet.
