In 2024 I had a goal of reaching 10k here on YouTube. However, my doctoral work ended up being more taxing than I expected in the winter and my summer presented a HUGE opportunity for my work. This has made me slow down in my posting here.

It is day three, and the pain has increased greatly. There are now sores under my tongue and one stitch has fallen out (I think that’s a good thing). Healing is coming along.

Surgery was done this morning. I can speak but my tongue is swollen. Pain is manageable, but I’ll update you on how I feel in the morning.

For most of my time as a creator, I’ve positioned myself as a teacher (because that’s what I am). I’ve mainly focused on short-form content because it requires less time commitment. I’ve tried creating long-form content formatted similarly to my short-form videos, but I’ve found it challenging since I don’t have a team or the time.

Two weeks ago, I started vlogging just to process my thoughts, and it did surprisingly well! I’ve made a few more videos since then that haven’t performed as well, but I’ve enjoyed the process. I guess I’m at a point in my journey where I’m less concerned about views and more focused on connection. I’ve always aimed to provide value, but now—seeing how competitive it is—I’m happy to build and create for the people who genuinely care about me and want to learn.
