Welcome to Nytalite! My name is Justin. I’m a 22-year-old of many interests from Northern Virginia, and this is my main channel.

Every once in a while, I upload videos of alarms going off, elevators, or other things you’ve never asked for (albeit interesting things).

Five years ago today, while trapped at home during the pandemic and experiencing an autistic burnout, I publicized the Hotel Fire Alarm video after initially having it unlisted. I only expected it to get a few dozen views at best, but to my genuine surprise, it reached 186,000 views. I never could have imagined that such a terrible video could break the records of all my previous YouTube endeavors combined, and 125x over at that.

The graphics are terrible (if not completely unreadable), the camerawork is sloppy, and there was zero need for the bleep. Improvements have definitely been made in my newer videos, even though I have regressed in the latest ones.

On top of that, I now have 5 normal videos and four shorts on this channel that have exceeded 1,000 views. Just these videos have more views than my previous, long-deleted YouTube channels all got in their entire histories combined. I went from making poorly made, cringeworthy stuffed animal and Minecraft videos to exercising my more nerdy interests.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to everyone for your viewership, your questions, and even your criticism. Here’s to the next 5 years of this channel, my other channels, and whatever else I opt to do on YouTube! 💙 -Justin

Happy Friday, everyone! Today, I finished up my third tenure at WWRC, and I’m on my way home as I type this.

While I was sadly unable to remake the Carter-Ashley fire drill video, I have YouTube-worthy ride videos of every single student-accessible elevator on campus. I also have clips to expand my Carter-Ashley dorm tour video with (and that video hit 1,000 views a few weeks ago! Thank you to everyone who watched it!).

It will probably take me some time to get all of that edited, though. I’m also booked for several days. However, I’ve already started working on graphics for one of the videos, and it shouldn’t take too long.

Thank you everyone for sticking with me! -Justin

I was planning to come with my mom to her office at GMU today, but she was experiencing neuropathic pain and decided to work from home. I was then informed that there was an (albeit small) HVAC unit fire in Planetary Hall, and Exploratory Hall (where my mom’s office is located) was also evacuated.

I’m definitely disappointed I missed that video opportunity, especially considering Exploratory Hall has a Siemens Desigo voice evac system (which I know people like). I’ve also wanted to make that video for years now. Hopefully I’ll have better luck next time…

Finally, a new elevator video from me (and I have more coming!).

This video will be released on Sunday (EDIT: I ran into delays 🥲) at 6:00 PM/18:00 EST (UTC-5). In the meantime, here's a teaser.

I just made a TikTok so I could claim the Nytalite handle. While I don’t intend to engage that much in order to protect my mental health, I figured “why not upload my better YouTube shorts to it?”

Because of that, and that I’m currently sick with COVID and have nothing better to do (my class doesn’t start until tomorrow), I am working on reformatting the top shorts from all of my channels for TikTok and Meta Reels. I even plan to upload some commercials from ‪@NytaliteVHS‬.

Thank you all for 1,000 viewers on the WR100 Squeal video! In addition to that, I wanted to provide this update.

While I recycled this WR100, one comment said a fix has been discovered for it. I have not looked further into that, but I managed to get my hands on another V5 model (from the same thrift store, actually). I admittedly haven’t touched it in several years, but I will take a look at and do more research if that one has since developed the squeal.

PS: Please tell me in the comments if you’d like to see a video on that.

Yesterday, I got to experience a fire drill at WWRC’s Carter-Ashley dormitory hall, and the system is a complete and utter oddity. However, I only got two brief videos of the alarms going off, and one of them has issues with focusing.

Even though it wouldn’t even be 15 seconds long, would you watch a normal horizontal video? I don’t want to make a short by cropping then, as the last time I did so for a fire alarm video, it got an embarrassing quantity of dislikes.

I am actively working on setting up a 4th Nytalite channel, ‪@NytaliteGaming‬. It’s primarily dedicated to Tomodachi Life and other retro Nintendo content; however, there will probably also be Stardew Valley and Minecraft videos.

I don’t expect much out of this channel, though. In fact, I created it solely to share Tomodachi Life videos with friends.
