বৃহস্পতিবার (১১ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৫)- বাংলাদেশ বিমান বাহিনীর সি-১৩০বি বিমানের একটি বিশেষ ফ্লাইটে জামাল ভূঁইয়ার নেতৃত্বাধীন দলটি দুপুর ২:৩০টায় কাঠমান্ডুর ত্রিভুবন আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর থেকে ঢাকার উদ্দেশে রওনা হয়। বিকেল ৪:৪০টায় বিমানটি ঢাকার কুর্মিটোলা এ কে খন্দকার ঘাঁটিতে অবতরণ করে। দলের সঙ্গে নেপালে ম্যাচ কাভার করতে যাওয়া ক্রীড়া সাংবাদিকরাও একই ফ্লাইটে ফিরেছেন।

নেপালে ৮ সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে সরকারবিরোধী আন্দোলনের কারণে দ্বিতীয় প্রীতি ম্যাচ বাতিল হওয়ায় দলটি হোটেলে আটকা পড়েছিল। বিমান বাহিনীর এই বিশেষ উদ্যোগ দলটির নিরাপদ প্রত্যাবর্তন নিশ্চিত করেছে।

Turkish Defense Minister Visits Northern Cyprus for TEKNOFEST, Reaffirms Military Commitment and Regional Stability

In a show of strong military presence and strategic partnership, Turkey's Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler visited the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on May 2, 2025, to participate in TEKNOFEST and conduct key military inspections.
Accompanied by Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, Land Forces Commander General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, and Air Forces Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, Minister Güler began the visit with a tour of the 39th Mechanized Infantry Division Command. There, he conducted inspections, received operational briefings, and addressed the troops, praising their contributions to peace and security on the island.


Highlighting regional tensions and rising threats, Minister Güler emphasized Turkey’s critical role in safeguarding both national and regional security. “Thanks to the superior efforts of our heroic personnel, we have achieved great success in the fight against terrorism, both domestically and beyond our borders,” he stated.
Güler underscored the strategic significance of Cyprus and reaffirmed Turkey’s unwavering support for the TRNC. He reiterated that the Cyprus Peace Operation, carried out half a century ago, remains a cornerstone of peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, while also asserting Turkey’s rights as a guarantor country.


Amid growing geopolitical interest in the region’s energy resources, the Minister voiced concern over unilateral moves by the Greek Cypriot side and external actors. “Türkiye will never allow any fait accompli that threatens its rights or the rights of the Turkish Cypriots,” he declared. Calling for a realistic solution based on the sovereign equality of Turkish Cypriots, Güler stated that Turkey’s military presence on the island will continue to be a guarantor of peace and balance in the region.


He concluded by honoring Turkish and Turkish Cypriot leaders, veterans, and martyrs, and expressed confidence in the dedication of the armed forces stationed in the TRNC.

China Vows to Expand Role in UN Peacekeeping Operations, Reinforcing Global Security Commitment

The Chinese military reaffirmed its commitment to global peace efforts by pledging to deepen and expand its participation in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKOs), according to Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense.


Speaking at a regular press conference on Thursday, May 1, 2025, Colonel Zhang emphasized China’s growing role in international peacekeeping as part of its broader vision under the Global Security Initiative and its goal of building a “community with a shared future for mankind.


Since its initial deployment 35 years ago, the Chinese military has taken part in 25 UN peacekeeping missions, deploying over 50,000 personnel to more than 20 countries and regions including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lebanon, and South Sudan. Chinese troops have performed critical duties such as mine clearance, explosive ordnance disposal, medical aid, security escorts, and civilian protection.


“China’s Blue Helmets have stepped forward for world peace with courage and resilience in the face of hardship and danger,” Colonel Zhang noted, paying tribute to the 17 Chinese peacekeepers, including Liu Mingfang, Du Zhaoyu, and Shen Liangliang, who sacrificed their lives during missions.


Colonel Zhang highlighted China’s status as the largest troop-contributing country among the permanent members of the UN Security Council and the second-largest financial contributor to UN peacekeeping efforts. The People's Liberation Army maintains an 8,000-strong standby force composed of 28 specialized units across 10 categories, including infantry, medical, and rapid response teams.


The spokesperson also noted that China has established international peacekeeping partnerships with over 90 countries and 10 global and regional organizations. The military’s branded “Shared” peacekeeping series was also introduced as a hallmark of China's ongoing efforts in global security operations.


Currently, around 1,800 Chinese peacekeepers are actively serving in the UN headquarters and across seven mission areas, continuing China’s steadfast contribution to international peace and stability.
