How do we achieve Net Zero emissions in one of the most CO₂-intensive industries on the planet? - Based our Zha team research:

A visual guide based on the GCCA (Global Cement and Concrete Association)'s Roadmap to NetZero Cement and Concrete.

Key Observations:

The Societal Need for Net Zero Concrete

Concrete is integral to global growth, urban development, and the creation of accessible, resilient, and safe cities. As there is currently no viable alternative on the scale required for urbanization, concrete is here to stay. However, if no effort is made to decarbonize, the projected CO₂ emissions would be unsustainable for the planet.

Collective Effort Is Essential

Achieving Net Zero will require the combined efforts of the industry’s largest organizations, deploying a wide range of new technologies and efficiency improvements throughout the value chain. There is no single solution — collaboration and innovation is the key.

🏦 Shared Responsibility among individuals, Not Just Corporate Burden .. this is the key that ZSPC is creating through its concept club.

Organizations investing in infrastructure, innovation, and processes toward Net Zero often face significant external challenges. This is a societal goal, and while we are seeing progress in industry standards and institutional support, too much of the burden still falls on a few companies with NetZero commitments to absorb the cost of this transition, whilst competing with imports which simply do not have the same constraints.
