Something strange is happening… my old Tangos tutorial from 5 years ago is suddenly taking off and getting lots of unexpected views. If you found it recently, I’d love to know how you came across it. Browse? Search? A recommendation? I'm very interested to learn why an average video can suddenly become popular. Any thoughts you may have will be of great value to me.
EDIT: ONE DAY LATER. I have the answer. I just discovered that this video has been audio dubbed into 12 languages on Jan 19 2026. after this date, my views for this video went from 1 a day to 200 a day. I'm not complaining. I'll take the extra views. I realize this feature is not perfect and some people really hate it. I can always turn it off later. But for now, the mystery is solved.

New Video. A great sounding variation of the standard triplet Rasgueado (Abanico)

I made some major edits to this video. I trimmed it from 4 min to 2 min. I don't know how to talk in front of a camera very well like some people who ramble on for 20 minutes and say nothing. This video does say something so I let the guitar do the talking with the absolute minimum words coming out of my mouth. I take my cue from Frank Zappa. "Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar"

Sal Bonavita

Hi everyone. Sal here.
Over the past few months I’ve been experimenting, reflecting, and trying to understand what direction this channel should take moving forward. After a lot of thought (and plenty of trial and error), I’ve decided to make some major changes that I want to share with you directly.

🎶 The songs will be hidden from public view - but not removed
Many of you know I’ve uploaded a lot of song performances over the years. I’ve loved sharing them, but they’ve also created confusion about what this channel is really about. (guitar playing)
So I’ve made the decision to unlist ALL of my song videos, Including shorts.
They’re still available in a dedicated playlist for anyone who wants to revisit them, and they’ll continue to serve as reference examples for my guitar technique tutorials.
But they will no longer appear publicly on the channel or in search results.

🔥 The new focus: Flamenco rhythm for accompaniment.
Going forward, this channel will focus on something I’m truly passionate about:
Using flamenco guitar techniques and rhythms to accompany songs — traditional, modern, and everything in between.

This includes:
- Flamenco‑based fingerstyle
- Rumba patterns and other strumming combinations
- Rasgueados
- Rhythm mechanics
- How to apply these techniques to the songs you love

My goal is to help you build strong rhythm and fingerstyle skills so you can accompany confidently, musically, and with that unmistakable flamenco feel.

🎯 Why the change?
After 20 years of performing and teaching flamenco — and nearly 20 years on YouTube - I’ve realised something important. The most powerful thing I can offer at this stage in my life is showing how flamenco rhythm can enrich any style of music, not just traditional flamenco. Playing flamenco rhythm styles to accompany my public song performances makes people stop and listen. Why? it's certainly not my awful singing voice. It's because my guitar playing it's different. Loud, confident and dynamic.
Anyway, this change of direction for my Youtube channel feels authentic, focused, and genuinely useful for the kind of guitarist who finds their way to my channel.

🙏 Thank you
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, watched my videos, and learned alongside me. This pivot is about giving you clearer, more focused content — and building a channel that truly reflects what I love to teach.
More tutorials, more rhythm, more clarity - and plenty of flamenco energy coming your way in 2026.

New Video. Something Stupid – Rhythmic Nylon‑String Cover.
Yes. Another song. I know I'm going a little bit overboard with songs. It's just an experiment and already I have learned that posting lots of songs is NOT the way forward for this channel. I'll still upload some songs, but I need to get back to the main reason this channel exists. Guitar stuff.

So I'm just testing the waters at the moment. I have also uploaded heaps of shorts. They get lots of views and subscribers but I'm starting to doubt if they have real long term value for growing this channel. Shorts subscribers don't come back and that is hurting my channel and overall credibility.
Thanks for being patient. I'm just rambling.

You Tube is an incredibly complex jungle that even the experts don't understand. I can only move forward by making my own mistakes and learning from them. The experts can carry on playing in their own sandbox. Most of them are are as confused as I am.

One thing is certain.
YOU are more important than chasing views, subscribers and ad revenue. In the New Year I need to get back to work and make some proper guitar videos again. This is my mission before I drop dead from some exotic disease that renders me incapable of playing guitar. 😊
I am happy be alive right now. Life is good.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

New Video.. I have over 50 songs on this channel. So it should come as no surprise when I upload a song, or two.

Does this mean no more flamenco videos. Of course not. I can't just forget what I learned playing for Spanish dancers and performing flamenco on stage for 20 years.

In this video I just wanted to talk about this channel's original mission statement, which is about playing different styles with a nylon string guitar. I like to think outside the box and explore what else I can do musically. I just don't understand the concept of only playing one genre of music for a lifetime. Just letting you know my thoughts in this rambling, un-scripted video.

My website is broken and many of my tab links no longer work.
So before anything else breaks, I’ve zipped up all my available flamenco and fingerstyle guitar tabs into ONE ZIP download. 280 files (PDF and GuitarPro). Grab them now while everything is still working. Enjoy the music, and thanks for your support!

New Video. Yellow Bird. Mills Brothers Cover.

I hope you enjoy listening to all these recently posted songs. I'm on a bit of a song binge at the moment. two reasons.
1) I enjoy singing songs
2) I want to get back to the original mission statement of this channel.
Namely, to demonstrate that a nylon string guitar does not have to be boring. It's not just for folk singers and it's definitely not just for classical music or flamenco.

I have not ruled out more flamenco videos and tutorials. It's just that I have basically said what I wanted to say about how to play flamenco techniques. I found I was just repeating myself. I feel the need to step outside the box now explore other types of music. Whatever flamenco and classical guitar skills I have developed can make ordinary music and songs sound more interesting. That's my focus right now. Why not?

Before I drop dead I just want to do what pleases me with this channel for a change, rather than focus on lots of subscribers and advertising dollars.
By way, I know my voice sucks but I don't care.

Thank you for being patient with me and thanks for watching.
Now back to the music.
