ALI SOCIETY, AMU ANNOUNCES COMPETITIVE PROGRAMMES MARKING THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF HAZRAT ALI
The Ali Society, Aligarh Muslim University, is organizing a series of competitive programmes on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali to promote awareness about his life, teachings and ideals among students. As part of the programme, an essay writing competition will take place on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Faculty of Theology, while a poster making competition will be held simultaneously at CEC Complex, AMU.
AMU Announces Hackathon 2026 to Promote Student Innovation
ALIGARH, January 21: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has announced AMU Hackathon 2026, a two-day innovation-promotion initiative organised by the Innovation Council and the University Incubation Centre (IC&UIC), to be held on February 7 and 8, 2026, at the AMU Innovation Foundation Building (Old Management Building).
The hackathon is exclusively open to currently registered AMU students, who may participate in teams of one to five members. The event aims to foster creativity, interdisciplinary collaboration and problem-solving by encouraging students to develop technology-driven prototypes addressing real-world challenges relevant to the AMU campus.
AMU Alumnus Makes Contribution to Next-Generation 6G Communication
An outstanding international accomplishment by AMU alumnus Prof. Muhammad Shah Alam, formerly of the Department of Electronics Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), whose contributions to next-generation wireless communication have received global acclaim.
Currently serving as Professor of Electrical Engineering at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), Riyadh, Prof. Alam led a research team that developed a novel 6G transmission line technology, which received the Gold Medal at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions held in Geneva, Switzerland. The exhibition is internationally regarded as a leading platform for showcasing breakthrough technological innovations.
The award-winning research addresses key challenges in millimeter-wave transmission, a critical element for achieving higher data rates, low latency, and broader frequency coverage in future 6G networks. By combining advanced materials with an innovative design approach, the technology delivers marked performance improvements over existing methods, offering a scalable solution for next-generation wireless systems.
The innovation has secured US patents, featured at major international conferences and technology expos in the United States, and been published in leading IEEE journals, highlighting its scientific value and commercial promise.
Aligarh Muslim University proudly inaugurates the Plants Sale Counter, a thoughtful initiative that blends environmental responsibility with community engagement. With a vibrant display of ornamental and eco-friendly plants, this effort encourages greener spaces, mindful living, and a deeper connection with nature.
