🚨 [IMPORTANT UPDATE] 🚨
Hi everyone! I've wanted make a post talking about this properly for a while now. YouTube's algorithm changes have been impacting creative channels across the board (including myself and other VGM channels) extremely hard as of late. New videos are simply not being pushed out to subscribers or recommended to new viewers. A big reason for this is just due to the fact that creative channels, especially smaller ones without huge fanbases to fall back on, just can't keep up with YouTube's upload schedule demands and thus get deprioritized algorithmically. As a result, you might see me experimenting with a few things currently including changing up the titles of videos, testing out different thumbnails, using YouTube shorts and more to try and get videos more widely recommended. Doing music and YouTube has never been about views, "virality," ad revenue or anything of that sort of course but the fact remains that so many hours of work go into each upload that declining viewership makes investing so much time into the channel less viable which means even less uploads and more inactivity which is something I don't think anyone wants. If you would like to help, engagement is what YouTube values the most when prioritizing videos and channels. Examples include things like liking a video, commenting, sharing as well as using YouTube's new "HYPE" feature on recent videos. I hate being the type of creator that relentlessly pushes their own content but unfortunately that's where YouTube seems to be at the moment. Hiiii it's been a while! Guess what? I haven't disappeared again and actually have 3 new Deltarune tracks almost entirely complete and ready to upload! That's right you guys are getting remixes of Guardian, It's TV Time!, and an original Ralsei themed track based on Chapter 4. In the meantime while I'm working on editing and uploading everything I've finally dusted off my second channel ‪@StormheartUnofficial‬ and uploaded nightcore versions of the remixes of Black Knife, From Now On, and Hammer of Justice I've already released. I'm listening back to my newer Deltarune remixes and I'm realizing I'm actually extremely satisfied with how they turned out. I've been in a bit of a slump for the past few years so it feels good to release tracks that I am wholeheartedly proud of again. Deltarune chapters 3+4 really helped me find my groove with music again and I'm so deeply appreciative of that. I'm debating finishing up and releasing some of the last Deltarune remixes I've been working on (Guardian, TV World, and a Ralsei original song). I've made a lot of progress with most of them, however, the hype for the new chapters has long passed and the algorithm doesn't really seem to have much of appetite for more Deltarune content across the board (not just with my channel but across music channels everywhere). So I'm asking all of you, would you be invested in me finishing up and releasing these remixes? Ultimately it's never been about the views of course but YouTube does tend to punish channels with dwindling numbers and one of the objectives when releasing music is to at least keep enough viewers around to have folks to actually listen and enjoy the tracks. Anyway that's just me thinking out loud a bit. I'm curious what you all think!
