The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change

Today we remember Breonna Taylor and the injustice of her death.

Her life was taken in a tragic and unjust act that continues to call our nation to confront the systems and policies that allow such harm to occur.

Honoring her memory requires more than remembrance. It requires a continued commitment to justice, accountability, and the work of creating the Beloved Community.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change

The King Center honors the life and legacy of Bernard Lafayette, Jr., a devoted civil rights leader, strategist, and educator who dedicated his life to advancing the philosophy and practice of Kingian nonviolence.

A close colleague of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and a key leader in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, Dr. Lafayette played a vital role in the Freedom Rides and the Selma Voting Rights Movement. Throughout his life, he helped teach and carry forward the discipline of nonviolence to new generations of leaders around the world.

We remember and honor his extraordinary contributions to the ongoing work of creating the Beloved Community.
