My Mission is to create radical change and true wellness in hormone balance, gut health, food mapping, autoimmune disease through functional medicine, unwavering dedication and the destruction of limiting beliefs.
When I was 38 I discovered a way to reverse the symptoms of my early menopause. You can read the full story at www.drmaggieyu.com, but the short version is this: standard medical practices, which I call “factory medicine,” failed me. Doctors couldn’t or wouldn’t put in the time to help me find out the root cause of my health crisis. They wanted to hand me a bottle of pills and move on. As a doctor, a scientist and a woman, I rejected that. The journey to finding my own cure led me to root cause medicine: a personalized, systems-oriented model that empowers you and I to achieve the highest expression of your health by addressing the underlying causes of your problems.

“I am not looking for a zero on a pain scale.
I am looking for enough of my life back to cook a meal.
To work in my garden.
To walk through a store without calculating how far I am from the exit.
To play with my grandchildren without knowing I will pay for it tomorrow.
Pain has made my world smaller in so many ways.
It has changed where I go, how long I stay, what I wear, how I sleep, and how much help I need.
People see the things I have stopped doing.
They don't see how hard I fight to keep doing anything at all.”
~Jen

POTS is not just a heart-rate problem.
The racing heart gets most of the attention because it is easy to measure.
You are lying down. You stand up. Your heart rate shoots up.
But your autonomic nervous system controls far more than your pulse.
It helps regulate:
🧠 Blood flow to your brain
🌡️ Body temperature
🍽️ Digestion
💧 Fluid balance
😴 Sleep
🩸 Blood pressure
⚡ Your response to physical and emotional stress
That is why someone with POTS may also experience nausea, constipation, diarrhea, heat intolerance, cold hands and feet, brain fog, shakiness, insomnia, exercise intolerance, or feeling “wired but exhausted.”
These symptoms can look completely unrelated when they are sent to different specialists.
The cardiologist looks at the racing heart.
The gastroenterologist looks at the digestion.
The neurologist looks at the dizziness.
The endocrinologist looks at the hormones.
Everyone examines their piece, but who is looking at the pattern connecting them?
POTS is rarely just one isolated malfunction. Especially after COVID, we need to look at the nervous system, hormones, blood sugar, digestion, nutrient absorption, inflammation, and immune activity together.
Your racing heart may be the loudest symptom.
That does not mean it is the whole problem.
If your racing heart is being treated as an isolated cardiac symptom, the bigger POTS pattern is being missed.
Watch this training video to understand why Dr. Maggie’s approach to POTS, long haul and dysautonomia is so different

Fatigue is common.
Pain is common.
Brain fog is common.
Terrible periods are common.
Feeling awful through perimenopause is common.
Bloating after every meal is common.
Waking up exhausted is common.
But none of these are “normal”.
“Common” only tells us that a lot of people are experiencing it.
It doesn't tell us that your body's functioning well.
We have normalized chronic symptoms to the point that people wait years before investigating them.
They assume everyone feels this tired.
Everyone hurts this much.
Everyone loses their words.
Everyone needs three days to recover from one busy afternoon.
They don't.
Your symptoms are information.
They are showing you where your body is struggling to regulate, produce energy, manage inflammation, process hormones, absorb nutrients, or calm the immune and nervous systems.
The 360° Health Assessment translates that information into patterns and shows how your symptoms connect before another five years disappear into “this is normal for your age.”

If you are reacting to foods, guessing creates more confusion.
You remove dairy on Monday.
Gluten on Wednesday.
Histamine foods on Friday.
Then someone online tells you to remove oxalates, lectins, nightshades, or salicylates.
Soon you are eating six foods and still reacting.
This is no way to live and thankfully there is a better approach to your food issues.
The 360° Health Assessment helps connect patterns so you can stop building your health plan around fear and food restriction.

There was a point when I could have accepted the labels and stopped asking questions.
Early menopause.
Hashimoto’s.
Mixed connective tissue disease.
Fibromyalgia.
Chronic pain.
Later, long COVID, POTS, and histamine issues.
I could have looked at that list and decided my body was simply broken.
I refused.
Not because the diagnoses were fake.
Not because positive thinking cures autoimmune disease.
And not because recovery is quick or easy.
I refused because those labels described what was happening.
They did not explain why it was happening.
A diagnosis can be valuable. It gives a group of symptoms a name.
But it does not automatically reveal the hormone patterns, immune triggers, digestive problems, nutrient deficiencies, nervous-system dysfunction, or post-viral changes underneath it.
I needed more than names.
I needed connections.
That refusal to stop at the diagnosis became the foundation of the work I do today.
You are not a rare mystery.
You are a pattern.
And when we can see the pattern, we finally know where to start.
Watch my training so that you can finally understand the patterns that got your health to where it is right now.

You ate the food.
You reacted.
Therefore, the food must be the problem.
Right?
Not necessarily.
Sometimes the food is the trigger, but the size of the reaction tells us there may be more happening underneath.
Why can one person eat eggs, tomatoes, or strawberries without a problem while another person suddenly flushes, itches, bloats, gets diarrhea, develops a headache, or feels their heart pound?
And why might that same person tolerate the food one day but react to it the next?
Because reactions can be affected by more than the food itself.
Your total histamine load matters.
Your digestion matters.
Your ability to break down histamine matters.
Your hormones matter.
Your stress level, sleep, illness, menstrual cycle, temperature, and nervous-system state all influence how reactive you are that day.
This is why removing more and more foods can eventually become its own trap.
The diet gets smaller.
The fear around eating gets bigger.
But the reason the body became so reactive may still be sitting there untouched.
This is why FoodmappingTM is so valuable.
Because the goal should never be to create the longest possible list of foods you cannot eat.
The goal is to understand the pattern behind the reaction so that you can start reintroducing some of the foods you’ve been avoiding.
The answer is not to keep removing foods until there is almost nothing left to eat. The answer is to identify why your body became reactive in the first place.
The 360° Health Assessment helps connect your food reactions to histamine, mast cells, hormones, digestion, and nervous-system patterns.

Autoimmunity is never just one thing.
It's not just your thyroid.
Just your joints.
Just your skin.
Just your digestion.
Just your pain.
Just your hormones.
Your immune system communicates with every one of these systems.
That's why an autoimmune diagnosis doesn't stay neatly inside the body part named on your chart.
Hashimoto’s affects more than the thyroid.
Rheumatoid arthritis affects more than the joints.
Psoriasis affects more than the skin.
Sjögren’s affects more than moisture.
The diagnosis tells us where the immune attack is showing up.
It doesn't tell us everything driving it.
When we look deeper, we find patterns involving digestion, blood sugar, hormones, nutrient absorption, inflammation, infections, stress physiology, and the nervous system.
Treat one piece and you get partial progress.
Connect the pieces and you finally have a direction.
Watch this training to start connecting the pieces on your symptoms so you can stop guessing and finally get to the root of what is driving your symptoms

Don’t wait until you’re exhausted, hurting, and unable to think clearly to decide how you will handle a flare.
Create your flare-day plan while you are feeling more stable.
Keep it simple:
🩵 The commitments you can cancel or move
🥣 A few easy meals your body consistently tolerates
💧 Your hydration routine
📱 The people who need to know you are having a difficult day
📝 The symptoms that mean you should contact your medical provider
🛏️ The tasks that can wait without guilt
A flare plan removes decisions when your capacity is already low. It also helps you respond earlier instead of waiting until your symptoms become impossible to ignore.
But managing flare days is only one part of the work.
If your life is organized around anticipating the next crash, it is time to look beyond symptom management and investigate why your body remains stuck in that cycle.
Watch this training to understand why throwing more prescriptions at your symptoms only leads to more symptoms cropping up over time and what you need to do to get to the root of your symptoms once and for all

Imagine you are standing on a floor with several trapdoors underneath you.
One is digestion.
One is blood sugar.
One is thyroid.
One is reproductive hormones.
One is the nervous system.
One is immune activation.
You finally get one trapdoor closed and start feeling a little better.
Then another one opens.
You improve your diet, but your fatigue remains.
You work on your thyroid, but your sleep falls apart.
You support your hormones, but your histamine symptoms get worse.
You calm your digestion, but dizziness and blood sugar crashes keep knocking you down.
That does not necessarily mean the thing you tried “didn’t work.”
It may mean you addressed one real problem in a body with several connected problems.
This is why people with chronic illness often say:
“Everything helps a little, but nothing lasts.”
The missing piece is not another supplement, medication, diet, or practitioner.
It is understanding which trapdoors are open, how they are connected, and which one needs attention first.
Order matters.
Stop opening and closing one trapdoor at a time.
Watch Dr. Maggie explain what is actually fueling your chronic symptoms and steps you can take to finally see relief

Dr. Maggie Yu - Transform Your Health Naturally
For years, I thought every new symptom was another separate problem.
Early menopause was one problem.
Autoimmunity was another.
Pain was another.
Fatigue, brain fog, histamine reactions, and the symptoms I experienced after COVID all seemed to belong in different boxes.
That is how medicine is usually organized.
One doctor for your hormones.
Another for your immune system.
Another for your heart.
Another for your digestion.
But my body was not operating in departments.
Neither is yours.
The turning point for me was realizing that these symptoms were not random problems piling up.
They were connected patterns.
My hormones affected my immune system.
My immune system affected my nervous system.
My digestion affected what I could absorb.
My blood sugar affected my energy, sleep, and stress response.
Once I stopped asking, “Which symptom do I treat next?” and started asking, “What pattern connects these symptoms?” everything changed.
That experience is a big part of why I created the 360° Health Assessment.
Because I know what it feels like to have symptoms that make no sense when they are examined one at a time.
You are not a collection of unrelated symptoms.
And you are not a mystery.
There is a pattern here. We just have to find it.
