I just posted a new video about that strange space between things. When one project ends (or falls flat), and the next hasn’t begun yet. The part we often rush through or try to escape.

What if this is where your next creative idea is quietly waiting?
I’m not exactly brave. But I am… done waiting for things to change on their own.
In this video, I talk about how I’m gently rebuilding my life — not by doing anything radical or fearless, but by doing small, practical, hopeful things that remind me I’m still in charge of my story.
Like mowing the lawn. Using power tools (akwardly). Cutting back on screen time. And remembering what used to make me feel me.

I'm hard at work on my "make art I'm not allowed to keep" challenge. I've decided that I want to work on bigger pieces. Rather than spend money on a new canvas, I went shopping in my basement. So, today, I'm uploading a video on how I transform an old painting into to a brand new blank collage surface. If that sounds like something that might be helpful to you, the video will be up Thursday May 23 @2:00 est.
You know how when you declutter an area in your house and you get to that point where ALL your stuff is pulled out and a mess and you regret starting the job and you want to quit…and cry???
That’s how I felt today after a full day of sanding, and staining wooden frames that will (hopefully) house my (yet to be created) collage art.
This is NOT creative work, and not very fun either. Which leaves LOTS of time for the evil voice of doubt to take hold of my head - “Why am I doing this?” “These take WAY too long for the money I’ll make!” I need to quit this art dream and get a real job again.” And on and on, on and off throughout the process.
But after showering off the dust and paint at the end of the day and eating a good meal, I felt better. The worst of the process is over, and now the art making begins! And that evil voice of doubt can’t penetrate during the creative flow state. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
