Very Important to know! KUNG SAKALI AT MANGYARI ANG MALAKAS NA PAGYANIG NA 7.1 HANGGANG 7.2 SA WEST VALLEY FAULT O MARIKINA FAULT.

PHIVOLCS warned that in case of an earthquake in Metro Manila, the 100-kilometer-long fault system, which passes through various cities and provinces which includes Bulacan, Quezon City, Marikina, Pasig, Makati, Taguig, Muntinlupa, Rizal, Cavite and Laguna, may cause a 7.1 magnitude quake.

The government agency in-charge of earthquakes in the country estimates that over 30,000 individuals may die and over 100,000 may be injured. In order to speed up the evacuation of residents and the rescue operations, the MMDA has divided Metro Manila into four quadrants:

North
– Caloocan
– Valenzuela
– Quezon City
– San Juan
– Mandaluyong

East
– Pasig
– Marikina

West
– Manila
– Malabon
– Navotas

South
– Las Piñas
– Makati
– Muntinlupa
– Parañaque
– Pateros
– Taguig
– Pasay

Aside from the four quadrants mentioned above, the MMDA also designates operation centers and staging areas which will also serve as evacuation camps for affected residents:
North
– Veterans Memorial Golf Course
– University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman
East
– LRT-2 Santolan Depot
– Marikina Boys Town
– Red Cross Marikina
– Ultra Pasig
West
– Intramuros Golf Course
South
– Villamor Air Base Golf Course
MMDA also noted that athletic fields, sport arenas and memorial parks as well as churches and gyms that will be designated by LGUs will be used as evacuation centers in Metro Manila and nearby provinces and cities. The Metro Manila’s main waterways, the Pasig River will also serve as an alternate route for rescue and relief personnel in the event that bridges in the metropolis are destroyed by the quake.

🇵🇭💔 The Philippines is Shaking

In just a short span of time, several parts of the Philippines — from Luzon to Mindanao — have experienced strong earthquakes:
📍 Baguio – Magnitude 4.8
📍 Cebu – Magnitude 6.9
📍 Davao – Magnitude 7.6

These quakes remind us that our country sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire, one of the most active earthquake zones in the world. 🌋
No one can predict when or where the next one will strike — but we can always be prepared.

🧭 Safety reminders:
✅ Always know the nearest evacuation area.
✅ Keep an emergency bag with water, flashlight, and important documents.
✅ Turn off electricity and gas during tremors.
✅ Stay calm and alert — avoid panic.

Tahimik na Banta sa Ilalim ng Pilipinas: Ang Manila Trench 🌊⚠️

Sa ilalim ng kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon, nakatago ang Manila Trench — isa sa pinaka-delikadong earthquake zones sa buong Asia.

📍 Mahigit 1,000 km ang haba nito sa ilalim ng dagat, kung saan nagbabanggaan ang Eurasian Plate at Philippine Sea Plate. Sa loob ng maraming siglo, nanatili itong tahimik… pero delikado ang katahimikan na ito.

💥 Ayon sa mga siyentipiko, posibleng maglabas ito ng mega lindol (Magnitude 8.5–9+) at magdulot ng malaking tsunami na pwedeng tumama sa Pilipinas, Taiwan, China, at iba pa.

🌊 Pwedeng mangyari tulad ng sa Japan noong 2011 (M9.1) — halos 20,000 ang nasawi dahil sa lindol at tsunami.

📍 Sa mga simulation, posibleng umabot sa 10 meters ang taas ng alon sa Metro Manila ilang minuto lang matapos ang lindol.

⏳ Kailan mangyayari? Walang nakakaalam. Pero kapag nangyari, posibleng malawak ang pinsala.

👉 Dapat maging handa. Alamin ang evacuation routes, sumali sa drills, at suportahan ang early-warning systems. Tahimik man ang kalikasan ngayon — pero malalim ang babala nito.
