One day I was walking with a friend, we were having an awesome conversation and then he dashed his left foot against a stone. I quickly told him sorry and then he said that when you are going somewhere and you dash your left foot, it means "bad luck".
His response really suprised me. I had to ask him, "You don't believe in that superstition, do you? And he replied, "No, but I never throw away the chance."
In the same way, some people pray according to this principle. They do not really believe that they are going to get an answer, but they never throw away the chance of praying. So they pray, but they do not really pray expecting that they are going to get an answer just like that my friend.
Jesus taught us to "pray, believing." It's that simple.
We can believe with all the positiveness in the world whenever we are asking according to God's will / promises.
God cannot go back on what He says He will do because he is not a man that he should lie.

STOP THE BLAME GAME
Consider this scripture👇🏻
MATTHEW 9:27-31
And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying out, “son of David, have pity on us!” When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him.
Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened…
Did you see that?
"Let it be done to you according to your faith". Hmmm
Do you often feel like prayers are not being answered? Maybe it’s “being done for you according to your faith.”
Do you have faith?
I mean... do you believe you can receive what you ask for?
In life, we often play the blame game and our prayer is no different. If we pray for something in particular and it doesn’t come to pass, we are quick to say “God did not answer my prayer” or “it wasn’t meant to be.”
But then, these verses have led me to think deeply on the role our faith plays in our prayers being answered.
Maybe before blaming God for unanswered prayer, we should take stock of the depth of our faith.
Do you really BELIEVE that what you’re praying for will come to pass? Or are you not praying for it at all because you don’t believe it can happen?
I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. Mark 11:24
This means the outcomes of our prayer is according to our faith.
When you believe that which you pray for then you will receive it.
Happy new month!

BE IT UNTO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD
When the angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her of God’s invitation to her to bear a son, I believe there was a silence between the angel’s news and Mary’s response.
In that silence, all the heavenly host might have been quiet and the celestial movement of the stars and planets ceased.
In that silence even God himself could have leaned over from his heavenly throne and listened. The whole universe awaited her response.
Then, when Mary said *“Yes, be it unto me according to your word,”* I love to picture it this way; that God smiled deeply, the angels began to rejoice, the heavenly host celebrated, and the cosmos had started once again!
We may never know, at least not in this life, if Mary was the first one to whom this offer had been made. We may never know if God’s offer had been rejected before. What we do know is that Mary could have rejected the announcement.
I’m sure Mary may have had many ideas and expectations about what her life would be like. We all do. We knew she was expecting to marry Joseph. And then this angel shows up with a message from God that lays out a whole different plan for her future.
To say that this was going to complicate her life is even an understatement.
While the Bible revealed a lot about the coming of the Messiah, it didn’t include instructions for being the Messiah’s mom.
Mary was ready to let her life be according to The Word.
Likewise in this manner, the call to pray according to the will of God is a call for you to respond like Mary did - Be it unto me according to your word.
God’s will is God’s word
Sometimes all you need to do is read out God’s word and say amen to it. Yeah! It's that simple, howbeit powerful.
Prayer in its purest form is simply saying to God, "BE IT UNTO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD".
