I've been playing computer RPGs since 1990. This channel is my attempt to cover them properly: from the earliest titles to today, one full completion at a time.

Every review comes after 100% completion. I want to see everything a game has to offer before I talk about it. That's the only way I know how to do this honestly.

Occasionally I'll also cover betas, early access, first impressions, and news or patch highlights. That's always a different thing, and it's always labeled as such.

If you're the kind of person who wants to go deeper into these games, their history, their design, and what makes them worth talking about, you're in the right place.

So, Youtube is testing out an "AI Overview" search bar. It will feed you a summary on the topic you requested, using videos (both long forms and shorts) as sources.

This will probably shrink views substantially. A lot of views come from viewers watching the first 30s or so of a video, then moving on. They're only interested in an intro, an overview, and never go deeper. This is the public that will most likely be super-interested in an AI summary instead of watching the content. It won't be the end of content creation, but I believe it will almost kill the short videos (quick updates, highlights and so on). The answer is probably to double down on super deep content, catering to viewers who search for deep dives and quality, not fast overviews of something.

This morning I was still a little nervous due to the last video needing 8 renders due to technical difficulties, so I went walking among nature. The green, the sun, the physical extertion relaxed me.

I feel the channel is not growing as it could.

And that's most likely on me.

When Youtube understood that I was producing videos, it flooded me with "Youtube gurus" content, and I gladly watched them with the intention of increasing my skills. That's what a professional do, what I've been trained to do in my life: hone your skillset every single day.

The problem is that in the long run these "experts" say everything and nothing at the same time. I feel pulled in a thousand directions, and that becomes not counsel anymore, but chaos. In truth, when it comes to Youtube, I cannot separate a good advice from a snake oil salesman's product.

I feel those scattered "teachings" produced doubt in myself, instead of betterment. And it somewhat percolated in my videos, something the viewer can feel.

One of my most successful videos is the TES: Arena retrospective, a video I didn't engineer that much. I simply played that old, janky game, with genuine interest in seeing how the series started. I ended up liking it. And then I simply wrote a report, a sort of debriefing on it, recorded it, edited it, and shared it. And it was well appreciated.

According to the gurus, a video won't work if you don't have a thesis to prove, if you don't rely on tricks for retention times, if you don't create a question or some sort of contrast to hook the viewer. May I call BS on all that?

When I don't have data to know which option is the best one, I can only follow my istinct. And my istinct tells me to flush all this crap in the toilet and just do what I would naturally do. So I'm going to do it.

In a day and age where everything is artificially created, maybe being authentic will work. I don't know, but at least I'll just be myself.

Just wanted to share a thought with you. I appreciate you for reading. I haven't even proofread this post, so it's probably going to be imperfect. But at least it would be me.

Take care of yourselves.

This is going to take some time.

Four pages, I'm only through half of them. They're subject to reorganizing and changes too.

New videos are coming, I just require a little more time. I have to fix some of my previous job-related things, then my father got some sort of bronchitis that we're trying to keep under control with our doctor, trying to avoid it becoming pneumonia. He's been left elderly and frail after Covid in 2020, when he got hospitalized and risked his life, so it's a bit of a delicate issue. I imagine that some viewers may just not care, and that's fine, but behind a content creator there's a human being with normal life issues. Now you know the reason of the delays. I was trying to juggle things a little better to have more of a constant schedule, but life said: "Ah! Nope." Anyway, thanks for sticking around and as I always say, take care of yourselves.

I'm working on new videos, and I asked myself a question about Owlcat's that maybe you could answer: If you're interested in Dark Heresy, are you coming from Rogue Trader or your interest is only for DH, ignoring the previous game? The answers will help me shape the guides I'm working on.

As the year comes to an end, I just want to say thank you to everyone who watched, commented, and supported the channel this year. I hope the year ahead brings all of us good health, great game experiences, and plenty of fictional adventures.

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king."
- The Riddle of Strider

Happy New Year’s Eve, and I’ll see you in the next one. ⚔️
