Hello! Let's talk about DougDoug fan channels. I recently said that I am fine with people making DougDoug videos on their own youtube channels, my only rules are:

1) Only use stream or video content that is at least a year old
2) Please say that you are an unofficial channel in your channel/video descriptions.

If you do that, you don't need to ask permission from me or whatever, you're good to monetize! Run free my child.
However one of the channels just got taken down for "impersonation". We were able to get it reinstated, but my youtube contact told me that a channel is much more likely to get flagged if you explicitly name and theme your channel around my brand. "It is risky for a bunch of new people to make channels using the DougDoug brand conventions/name while also using the fruit image with the mustache"

So I wanted to say this officially here: I personally have no problem with you making DougDoug content if you follow the 2 rules above. However it sounds like you run a higher risk of getting flagged for impersonation by Youtube if you make your channel really look like a dougdoug channel with the naming and logo. Ultimately it's your call, but if you want to play it safe you probably shouldn't use my name or logo as part of your channel identity, because it is very unlikely I can reverse these kinds of bans in the future. I believe it's fine for the individual videos to use my stuff, I think the bigger risk is about your overall channel name and logo. That puts us at over $1,000,000 total over the past 6 years of celebrating Rosa’s birthday. She may have passed but that’s a crazy huge amount of support to honor Rosa and support ocean conservation, thank you all so so so much. I think Rosa would be really proud of us, if she spoke english

HELLO the Rosa Celebration Fundraiser streams are happening this year on AUGUST 24th and AUGUST 25th! They will start at approximately 1pm and go most of the day, and I'll be streaming on both Twitch and here on Youtube so it should be pretty easy to watch and donate this time around. Our beloved Rosa did pass away a few months ago but we're still going to celebrate her amazing life and the amazing work that the Monterey Bay Aquarium does to support sea otters and other marine life and I think we can beat last year's total

AS ALWAYS WE HAVE AN ART CONTEST! All of the submissions will be posted on the 25th, and I'll be personally going over the top 100 submissions on stream that day. We are not accepting Ai art submissions this year so please make sure it's something you created yourself, although it can be a song or video or whatever else you want, anything that celebrates the life of Rosa.
