In a daring and well-executed heist, thieves stole a solid gold toilet worth £2.8 million from Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill. The artwork, titled "America", was crafted by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and was fully functional, making it one of the most bizarre and valuable art pieces ever stolen.
The thieves reportedly broke into the palace overnight and removed the 18-karat gold toilet in just five minutes before escaping. Since the toilet was plumbed into the building, its removal caused significant water damage to the palace.
Authorities launched an extensive investigation, arresting multiple suspects, but the gold toilet remains missing to this day. Was it melted down? Sold on the black market? Or is it hidden away, waiting to be discovered? 🤔
