Is The Mecca of Carnival Trinidad turning into a sex tourism destination without saying it out loud?

And maybe the truth is… I want Carnival to be something it’s not.

I want it to be a party with purpose.
Because Trinidad is too beautiful, too rich, too deep for it to just be reduced to vibes and bodies.

After Carnival, the country deserves real tourism.
Real respect.
Real cultural teaching to the world.

Spiritually, a lot of us are flattened.
So we cling to pleasure and trends that don’t really feed us.

And that’s why I think Carnival will keep evolving into what it is…
instead of what it could be.

She consistently refers to having “immigrant parents,” yet rarely names Trinidad, the place she was born and where her roots begin. As a Caribbean woman, I have to ask: why distance the identity when Trinidad is so often embraced culturally accents, music, aesthetics when it’s convenient? Is this just political wording, or does it reflect a deeper discomfort with claiming Caribbean origin in certain spaces? Congrats to her … I guess 👑 Thoughts?
