Descanse em paz, Leandro Ló Pereira do Nascimento, age 33, shot to death at a concert in Brazil by an off-duty policeman over a bottle of liquor.

Per an article by the Combate section of ge.globo.com, by Ana Hissa, Gleidson Venga, and Raphael Marinho published 2022-08-07, Leandro was at Clube Sírio in São Paolo overnight from Saturday evening to early Sunday morning.

The Brazilian journalists accessed a bulletin of occurrence (incident report), which identifies the shooter as military policeman, Henrique Otávio Oliveira Velozo and was registered as tentative homicide (suspicion of homicide investigation) pending the confirmation of the athlete’s cerebral (brain) death.

Per the report,
“…police officer Henrique, after a brief discussion, went to the table of victim Leandro, and took a bottle from the table. In a continuous act, the victim got up, took the bottle from the suspect’s hand, and in a struggle, knocked him down and immobilized him. At this moment, the victim’s colleagues separated both of them and asked to “para deixar isso quieto.” [Leave that quiet. Leave it alone.] The suspect stood up, walked around the table, and facing the victim, took out his gun and fired a shot, which hit the frontal region of the victim’s head (forehead, left side).”

Harry Eugene Goularte, Junior, age 43, was arraigned last Friday, February 25th, for “one count of felony lewd and lascivious act with a child under the age of 14.”

He was released to his home after only 2 days in jail without even having to pay any bail money, according to Santa Clara Assistant District Attorney, Angela Bernhard via KPIX 5 CBS Local News. Harry is not allowed to be within 100 yards of any child under the age of 14. Call 911 if you see him violating the terms of his release.

Per Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith’s statement: “Deputies and detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU) responded to the childcare establishment [Patty’s Childcare, LLC 645 Powder Horn Ct, San Martin, CA 95046]. After conducting interviews with the 4-year old victim and associated parties, investigators determined a sexual assault occurred. Detectives later arrested Harry Eugene Goularte, Jr., a resident of San Martin.”

“Goularte is a relative of the owner at the daycare establishment and resides full time at the residence, however is not employed at the daycare. Detectives determined there are more than 20 children who attend this daycare establishment. The daycare’s license has been temporarily rescinded while a full investigation is being conducted.

“Goularte is accused of inappropriately touching a juvenile victim on multiple occasions.”

“On 02/25/2022, Goularte was released from the Santa Clara County Hall of Justice Courthouse via Supervised Own Recognizance Program (SORP).

“Detectives believe there are additional juvenile daycare participants who previously attended this daycare on Powder Horn Court and are working closely with the daycare to talk to all potential witnesses and victims. We are asking any parents whose children may have had contact with Goularte to call the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office at (408)808-4500.
