Born from the fires of community radio, the Geek Show has grown to be a podcast network and YouTube channel covering all things geek. Here on YouTube, The Geek Show is host to a variety of interviews from up and down the UK, video game reviews, animation and video chat and more. We are a relatively new channel and growing too, so who knows what else the future holds?

The Geek Show

We're just doing a bit of Autumn cleaning of the channel, and removing a bunch of epiosde of our old podcasts - although these will still be available through Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts from.

Well, it's been a time over on the website. It's also been why we've been quiet on the YouTube for the last little while. It's frightfest season and we covered 20 movies over the course of the festival, which translated into 15 articles.

From Werewolf Santa to Hostile Dimensions, we covered a lot of movies. We have a frightfest special coming up soon on the Uncut Network feed too, so look forward to that. For our writing coverage, head on over to thegeekshow.co.uk for loads of horror chit chat.

As promised, no more bombarding the community tab. Instead daily blasts or weekly, depends on how busy our main site is. Anywho. Today we've had...

1) Yes, the CGI is bad. Yes, Ezra Miller is super problematic. Beyond those issues though, is the Flash a good swansong for the #DCEU?

Read Andy's #review of this hugely divisve supernatural movie here: thegeekshow.co.uk/the-flash-2023-review/

2) Cut from a similiar cloth to Carrie, Lucky McKee's beloved directorial debut, May, gets the Second Sight red carpet treatment.

Read Liam's #review here: thegeekshow.co.uk/may-2002-review/

And, 3) Eureka & their continued schedule of Hong Kong classics (Rich and Famous and Tragic Hero) show just how deep the strength of the Heroic Bloodshed movies are.

I don't think there's anything new coming in the next day or so, but we do have the 100th episode of Pop Screen coming up soon. That certainly sneaked up on us.

French Extremity has perfect timing for horror, and many of its big hitters still hit hard (with staggering relevance) today - look no further than Frontier(s). Out today from Second Sight Films.

Going forward, I think it'd be better to do daily roundups rather than posting every single thing. We'll drown out the videos if we keep this up. Hey, we are learning.

The Geek Show

Hello everybody, we have an announcement to make - We have a brand new Patreon series in the oven, Red Dwarf!

Join Alex as he heads into deep space to discuss the cult UK comedy series - Red Dwarf. And much in the line of the series we have done of Doctor Who and the one that has just started on X-Files, he will be looking at this icon episode by episode.

The plan is to start in August, and this series will be housed exclusively in the £2 tier. We have a name in mind for this series, but we don't want to preclude any options until he is ready to go.

If you are reading this and you haven't subscribed to our Patreon, please consider throwing a few pounds our way - as for the maximum of £3/month, you will be supporting a fully independent outlet and help ensure our long-term survival when so many of our peers and competitors are closing their doors. And for those 3 pounds, you get a metric butt load - a monthly pop screen extra pod, articles about Dr Who, X-Files, Movies from Asia that we think deserve more eyes on them, and a podcast where we look at some lesser discussed horror movies. Loads of content for very little money; we aren't one of those operations who gouge your eyes out, putting much of their best content behind an unsightly paywall. You can thank Punk Legends Fugazi for that MO.

#FromTheArchives - ‪@thirdwindowfilms‬ continue their endeavour to release everything they possibly can from Shinya Tsukamoto, Mike looks at 1991's brilliantly madcap Hiruko the Goblin. Also, I absolutely love that box art. I wish more labels released specifically made art as posters.
