🔥 The anticipation is building up for the 85th edition of Tata Steel Chess! With a stunning lineup of world class players and young talents, it promises to be an exciting event. The average Elo rating of 2741 makes it the highest rated event in the history of Wijk Aan Zee.
Magnus Carlsen, the reigning World Champion, is the favourite to win the event and will be looking to prove himself against the likes of Ding Liren, Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri, and Wesley So. On the other hand, three young Indians - D.Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi, and R. Praggnanandhaa have also made it to the list of participants. It will be interesting to see how the young guns fare against the established GMs.
Vishy Anand is also in attendance at the event as a guest and spending some quality time with his WACA boys. It would have been more special if Vishy had also played the event, but who knows, he might participate in the next year’s edition!
