🆕 VIDEO ALERT 🥰Join me as I create the first mock-up of my Star Showgirl set! This project had an incredibly tight turnaround and a small budget, but I made it happen for my client. 🪡 While the final version evolved with changes to the design, elastics, and fit, I’d love to revisit this original concept in the future.

I’m a self-taught lingerie and swimwear designer—until this year, as I’ve enrolled in postgraduate classes at the London College of Fashion! Although I attended fashion school, I never took courses on pattern making or construction classes for stretch fabrics. Instead, I learned the art of designing and sewing with stretch materials and elastics while working for costume houses in Las Vegas. Sometimes, hands-on experience is the best teacher! ✂️

To my Youtube community - My name is Bridget Dickey and I am a designer and business owner who has been a dedicated member of the Pasadena community for the past 8 years.
On January 8th, I lost the space where I ship all my orders from @bridgetdickeyfabrics @bridgetdickeydesigns and have stored my inventory, supplies, materials, equipment, artwork, tools, samples, fabric, costumes, portfolio, schoolwork, and my collection of vintage garments and accessories. Everything is gone.

In October of 2022, I lost my studio space in an electrical fire and have worked tirelessly to rebuild my life, working multiple jobs to get my businesses back up and running.

Sadly, some of my most valuable things are gone now, and I must start again.

At this time, my three dogs, cat and I are still evacuated from my unit as it is still unsafe to be there. No power, running water, smoke damage etc. As well as some external damage due to the winds. The power line and tree came down during the high wind storms.

I am raising funds to help make it through this challenging time. Funds raised will go directly toward needs not covered by insurance and federal assistance (FEMA, etc.)

Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference during this very difficult time. Thank you for your support!

I know it's been a bit since I posted this year but I've been so busy! I designed a Sci Fi Short Film, styled some amazing editorial photoshoots and handmade lots and lots of custom made costumes for some amazing clients. That have been shipped all over the world. 🌎 🥰

Happy Halloween 🕷️🕸️ Curse Of The Spider Queen Set designed & handmade by me avail in my etsy store 🪡✂️ I love designing & making lingerie, swimwear & performance wear. If I was a Halloween Showgirl this is what I would wear!

A 70 yr old former model told me this past week she wished she wore whatever she wanted when she was younger & didn't worry so much about what people thought so I am doing just that. Life is short. I never really post myself in things I've designed and made and am going to be embracing that more.

I'm NOT a model but I love what I do and I think it's insane that anyone who isn't a size 2 gets shunned for posting themselves online in bikinis or sexier garments. I make garments for every body type and fit everything on myself before I sell it. So here we are. Just some #behindthescenes fitting selfies.
