Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Psalm 68:19. A donkey, which are called 'beast of burdens', carried Jesus on its back at His birth & death. With a cross etched into its back, it stands as a quiet testimony of Almighty God who willingly chose humility as His sign.
Palm Sunday marks the week leading up to the crucifixion. It commemorates Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, prophesied by Zechariah (Zech 9:9). The people who laid palm branches down and cheered Jesus onward are the very the same ones yelling "Crucify Him" a few days later. Yet even in knowing this, He did not hold it against them and went forth to accomplish what His Father sent Him to do: die on the cross in order to bring eternal salvation for all. The God of the Bible is completely unique in that He demonstrates His love. How? Christ died for us WHILE we were sinners (Romans 5:8). He didn't die for us when we are at our best, He came for us when we are at our worst. We do not clean ourselves up in order to stand before Him. God is the One who cleans us.
Peter said to Him, “You will never wash my feet!” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me [we can have nothing to do with each other].” John 13:8 AMP. Meditate and rejoice in the victory, goodness and love of our God and Savoir Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13).

There’s something both beautiful and unsettling about the image of a refiner’s fire. It’s not a wildfire; wild and destructive. It's a purposeful flame. Controlled. Intentional. Focused on transformation, not destruction.
When silver is refined, it’s heated to an intense temperature until it melts. In that state, all the impurities rise to the surface and are carefully removed. The process is repeated until the refiner can see his own reflection in the metal.
In life, seasons of trial can feel like that fire. Pressure, loss, uncertainty, stretching; none of it feels comfortable. It’s easy to wonder if the heat means something is wrong, or if we’ve somehow been abandoned in the flames. But Scripture reminds us that God doesn’t step away from the fire; He sits as the refiner. He is present, attentive, and precise. He knows exactly how much heat is needed and how long the process should last. Nothing is wasted.
What if the very thing you’re trying to escape is the place where God is doing His deepest work? Burning away fear, pride, self-reliance, bitterness; anything that keeps you from reflecting Him more clearly.
The goal of refinement is not only endurance, but also resemblance. There are impurities in all of us and the faster we get on board with His ways - the smoother the process will be. Do yourself a favor, stop fighting His work. We can be honest and tell Him we don't like something, but submission has zero to do with liking something.
And here’s the hope: the refiner never loses sight of the silver. He doesn’t walk away and hope for the best. He watches closely, carefully removing what doesn’t belong, until His reflection is unmistakable. When the heat rises, He is near.
If you find yourself in a season that feels like fire, everything is falling apart, asking where is God - TAKE HEART! You are not being rejected, you are being refined! Held steady in the hands of a God who sees not just who you are, but who you are becoming. God is the Creator, the Master Craftsman. He doesn’t do rush jobs, one-size-fits-all mass production approach, and He never takes shortcuts. God's work is intentional, detailed, and deeply personal. And His greatest, most cherished work is you. You've asked Him to give you great and mighty things, to increase you, to grow you... The fire you've been complaining about is actively forging you to have the capacity to carry the weight of very things you've ask Him for! Thank God for the heat.

- Karpas (a vegetable: usually parsley)
- Z'roa (a roasted shank bone)
- Chazeret (often romaine lettuce)
- A hard-boiled egg
- Matzah (this is unleavened bread; you can also use flat dry cracker)
- 4 Cups of wine or juice
- Salt water (for dipping karpas)
Seder Plates can be ordered online or simply use what you have at home. Haggadah (the text that is recited for Seder) can be read online or order a copy online. Jesus Christ is our Passover lamb; we will be taking communion. You can order communion elements online or explore local Christian bookstores that may carry communion items. You can also use what you have on hand from the pantry. Communion is about remembering we were bought at a price, proclaiming the Lord's death until He comes. While communion elements have important symbolism; the main focus should be the believer's heart posture towards God more than the physical food item used.
