Cadets compete to hit the mark 🎯

Australian Navy Cadets (ANC) from across Australia competed in Australian Navy Cadets annual National Shooting Competition at 📍 HMAS Cerberus, VIC.

Flotilla nominated their top 3️⃣ highest scoring personnel to represent their Flotilla and compete against other Flotillas for team awards and overall individual 'Champion Shot' of the ANC for 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣.

These technicians are trained to inspect, repair, modify, and recondition the full spectrum of Army maritime equipment.

From high‑powered engines and propulsion systems to watercraft 🌊, electrical systems 🔌, auxiliary machinery 🛠️, and vital mission-support components🤝, Army Marine Technicians ensure Army vessels remain safe, capable, and ready for operations anywhere in Australia’s littoral environment.

Now, at the controls of an F/A-18F Super Hornet, Squadron Leader Wood admits that the feeling of flying solo never truly fades. From his first tentative flights in a trainer to tearing past the skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise during the Pacific Airshow, the thrill remains "next level."

But the best view isn't the horizon – it's the crowd. He describes the unique perspective of looking back at thousands of faces, knowing that somewhere in that sea of people is another ten-year-old kid looking up, wondering if they can do it too.

Owning the night 🌙🔥

Off the coast of Christmas Island, the crew of MH-60R Seahawk ‘Redback’ and HMAS Toowoomba have been turning up the heat with intensive work-up drills.

This integrated force training included defensive drills and the deployment of chaff from the back of the ship, supporting Toowoomba’s preparations as she begins her 2026 Regional Presence Deployment across South and Southeast Asia.

HMAS Warramunga’s ship’s company have been sharpening their skills through a series of live fire serials and warfare exercises to ensure the platform remains ready to respond to any situation. 
  
During their transit off the Australian station, Warramunga have conducted 12.7mm, 5-inch gun and small arms firing serials, along with a suite of warfare drills designed to test kinetic weapons, readiness and tactical decision making.

Exercise Red Flag Nellis has kicked off in 📍 Nevada, United States.

The exercise brings together five branches of the United States military, the Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air-Force.

Up to 6️⃣ RAAF F-35A Lightning II from 75SQN, support elements and approximately 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ aviators are taking part in Red Flag which is one of the world’s most challenging air training exercises.
