The most overused phrase on social media in 2025: “AI slop.”

I’m so sick of reading it. I’m sick of this constant “us versus them” narrative that’s painted.

And I’m sick of having to feel like I’m being lumped in with the select few who only use it to make dumb, pointless meme songs, that for some reason, go viral. Those select few do not represent the majority of generative AI users in music.

People deserve to be able to share a piece of themselves through music that matters, using the tools available to them.

And I’m gonna drop a little perspective on the “AI slop” crowd: I firmly believe the majority of normal everyday music fans only care about whether a song speaks to them and if it sounds good.

I’ve always been a sucker for a great, beautiful and stripped back rock ballad love song. There’s just an honest, raw and vulnerable masculinity you don’t get from other genres.

I wrote one of those tonight titled “Lighthouse” for the upcoming Random Parts album. It’s so good.

The pre-chorus has two lines that just say everything without trying too hard:

“You don’t need a reason to stay
‘Cause you’ll never walk away…”

The album is near the finish line.

The tragic wildfire this past January that devastated the Pacific Palisades really struck me as my family has so many connections to that community.

It directly inspired me to start the process of writing my next original Brannon album. I knew what the album title would be before I even started writing: “After The Storm.”

I wanted “After The Storm” to embody the devastation, pain, resilience and hope all of us saw and felt.

I honestly believe I accomplished what I originally set out to do earlier this year.

“After The Storm” is finished. It’s an incredibly emotional and uplofting journey.

And only fitting I release it on my birthday, 12.12.25.

And after about 5 different cover concepts, because I wasn’t satisfied, I finally have the album cover locked in. It tells everything I wanted it to without saying a single word. It looks like one of those iconic rock album covers to me. I absolutely LOVE it.
