I wanted to say that I'm very grateful for the past year and a half for this channel. Everything has far exceeded every expectation I've had, and there have been so many pleasant, interesting, and fun interactions with so many new people. It's so surreal and heartwarming to see a community of such awesome, kind, and funny people forming!
I'm thankful for all of it and all of you, whether its a single viewing for a couple seconds, to some of you who I have come to see in every single comment section 😁. What else can I say except that its been a genuine... gift... 😬🤣
I hope everybody here is having a happy, warm, well-fed, and relaxing time during this season. And also, if you are, that you've tried to extend that warmth and security to others even in some small way.
We live in really isolated times, and I know spending the holidays alone can be really draining and frustrating. It isn't much, but I'm happy to chat in the comments if anybody needs someone to talk to! And I'm sure others will be happy to do the same!

1. In case you missed it, the hot takes video was uploaded a few days ago! Go check it out! Its fun and silly while still containing some pretty interesting arguments! I think YouTube didn't recommend it to anybody so it is really struggling.
2. The q&a video will be out tomorrow. I gave every comment an answer, even ones that I didnt really know much about, though I tried to be clear about where I was coming from and admitted my ignorance when I needed to. Regardless, for those who love long videos, you will be satisfied, and theres a lot of interesting discussion within.
Normal videos will resume next week with a massive horror video in time for the holidays!

Would anybody be interested in coverage of some academic work, especially if I can relate it to a wider philosophical argument or topic?
For example, there's a really fun health economics paper on the "Addiction to Milk" and (no spoilers), I can make an amazing connection to the philosophy of science, specifically Popper, Duhem, and Quine. So, while I won't really be doing any "novel" analysis, we can explore some unrelated fields, learn a few different things, and do some cross-disciplinary thinking.
I'm likely going to make this video regardless of the poll, but I wanted to gauge interest for the future.
After fully scripting out the 10k hot takes/comment response video, it is at over 50 pages. That is insane, and will likely translate to a 2 or 3+ hour monolith that I'm guessing nobody will actually watch. The hot takes people will click off, and the question/answer people will not want to sit through the first chunk, though there will be sections.
For that reason, I'm gonna split the video up. The first will be the hot takes video, coming out either 12/7 or 12/8, and the question/comment response video will come out later this week. I think this makes more sense for you all, since you can better choose which content you want to engage with, and it makes more sense for me and the channel, both time and algorithm wise.
After that, and probably a day off, I'll try to get the next set of videos to you! Thanks for understanding!

When I uploaded the MIM video, I promised to donate 100% of the ad revenue to the organizations in the description. Receipts, if available, are posted in the description/pinned comment of that video, but as of today, the video has made $976.96, and I’ve now sent all of that (and a tiny bit extra) to those charities:
NCMEC – $179.00 RAINN – $179.86 (2x-matched, and some of the numbers aren't the same because of transaction fee coverage)
Childhelp – $180.48
Internet Watch Foundation – $179.00
NCMEC again – $181.10 (the ECPAT donation kept getting blocked, so I put it here) Thorn – $82.08 (2x-matched, although a lesser amount because of controversy)
Additionally, and this has nothing to do with the MIM video, because aid routes have been opened again in Gaza, and famines are occurring literally everywhere else (including Sudan, Ukraine, Myanmar, etc), I sent an additional $206 to the World Food Programme, which works in over 120 countries worldwide. www.wfp.org/countries I say this because this is likely one of the most effective arenas to donate your money, and this is a fantastic time to do it!
A lot of us, I'm assuming, will be spending the holidays warm and with ample food and water, but many, many people around the world won't have that same luxury. Again, even a tiny bit will go a long way. Please consider giving!
As far as my channel update...
I am currently working on the 10k q and a. It is turning out to be way harder than I anticipated, since yall are asking some serious stuff and I want to do these questions justice! That should be out early next week, if not sooner.
I (unfortunately) have some closing out schoolwork I need to do that will be occupying a good bit of my time, until next week basically.
I have a Christmas video planned, and that should be out with sufficient time before the holidays, so you can sample everything I discuss!
More book videos will come, and more philosophy/essay videos. I plan to be extremely productive over my Christmas break (thank god for grad school still having breaks).
In all, there will be a bit of a slowdown until next week, but video production and releases should ramp up heavily from there, and EVERYTHING will be interesting.
