Two years and one day ago, I uploaded my first video on YouTube. I was bored after my first-year exams in grad school, and felt like I needed to do something productive, so I wrote up something that had been on my mind, recorded it, assembled a shoddy video, and uploaded it. Those videos were basically for nobody but myself, and any engagement I got was very welcome but mostly incidental. It's crazy to look at how everything has shifted since then. Now, I get to make videos on stuff I love, knowing that I'll get to engage with a ton of thoughtful, curious, and fun people!
Thank you all to those who have interacted with my channel in any way, and especially to those of you who I see on every video! It means so much to me, and interacting with you all and reading your thoughts is my absolute favorite part of this experience. It has gotten to the point where I can't really respond to every single comment, but I do read them all and internalize them! I love all of your thoughts so much, and I appreciate the environment of respectful discussion that takes place!
I've gotten a lot of requests to open a discord server. Once I figure out how to do this (I've never used discord :| ), I will open one, hopefully next week after I upload my next video. If anyone with more experience has thoughts/advice on this, let me know! I'm also looking into uploading the audio of the videos on platforms like Spotify.
I'm really excited for the next set of videos! I can't wait to bring them to you all. Thank you so much for such a life-changing, enlightening, and exciting experience. You all are the best!

I was a little hesitant to put it out because of the...controversial... nature of the films, but it seems like it has been received very well. The discussions I see in the comments are extremely interesting, as always!

Also, I promised to read Hogg in the end of the last book video. I'm not sure I have that one in me right now. I'm gonna save it for a future installment, or potentially its own video. I apologize to those who were excited to see it ASAP. Plus, I learned recently about the whole NAMBLA thing with the author and that really makes me uncomfortable.

For now, I have a question that I'd love some feedback on.
I'm considering making a second channel for the more topic-focused philosophical video essays, and keeping this channel focused exclusively on dark fiction. I know most of you have come recently and don't resonate as much with the essay-style videos, but I figured I'd ask for yall's opinion on this! That's not to say this channel will not get essays, but they'll be longer analyses focused on dark fiction, rather than whatever other topic I'm enchanted by.
To be clear, low subscriber interest in those videos means the algorithm heavily deprioritizes them, so moving them to a channel with a more interested audience will mean they are more likely to reach the intended audience.

Afterwards, there are a couple avenues I could go down, and I wanted to see what you all wanted most. I'll list a few options here, but if there's anything else you really, really want, feel free to share in the comments!
