Adventure Poll #11 - Here we go...
The party follows the giant bell creature at a safe distance, of course. A very safe distance.
The thing never looks back once and keeps walking. It marches into the forest area, crushing trees around it with its feet made of rusted iron and old gravestones.
Time passes, it fees like hours as the creature keeps walking. The further you get, the quieter the woods become. No birds and insects sounds, no wind, nothing. Then the creature stops, by a clearing.
At the center stands a stone door built directly into the side of a hill.
No castle. No dungeon entrance. Just a single ancient door.
The giant bell creature stops before it.
Then, for the first time, it kneels in a sign of respect.
The little girl turns pale, “It found the door.” she says.
The girl points to the carvings. Thousands of names cover the stone. Every single inch. Maybe tens of thousands.
The Cleric notices something chilling about the names, some of the carvings look only days old.
Then a new name slowly begins carving itself into the stone. By itself.
The party watches as the letters appear.
One at a time, until the name is clear... it's the name of the fighter in your party.

We are 41 days away from Gencon 2026, I am curious who is attending? I love going to Gencon, I think it's the best gaming experience out there. So many games to pick from, so many vendors, so much stuff to buy. I'd like to meet up with folks and chat. Let me know if you are going! Sound off.

Adventure Poll #10 - Well we had a clear winner from the last poll, though I was really hoping people picked the Winchesters! Here weeeee goooo
The party grabs the little girl and runs. Nobody argues and nobody tries to be a hero.
The Fighter scoops up the girl as the thief is somehow already thirty feet ahead of everyone else.
Now behind them as they look over their shoulder, the thing in the pit finally emerges.
It lets out this sound.. the sound alone is enough to make blood run cold.
Not a roar or a scream, but it sounds like a giant bell.
One massive bell note that shakes the entire village.
DONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Windows explode, chapel collapses, gravestones crack in half.
The party reaches the edge of town and looks back one last time, as the creature stands taller than any building in the small town.
It body appears to be made from weird twisted church bells, chains, rust and human bones....Its something you look at, and then need to look at it again with your head sideways.
BUT the creature does not chase the party or attack.
It simply points toward the forest, something beyond the village.
The little girl begins crying again and says “You don’t understand, it wasn't trapped, it was guarding something!"
Everyone stops.
Wait WHAT?

Adventure Poll #9: Everyone voted on pushing the bell keeper in.
The Fighter lowers his shoulder.
The Cleric helps.
The Thief joins in.
Even the Magic-User, who has spent most of the night making questionable life choices, throws his weight behind the effort.. all at once with a giant push.
The Bell Keeper stumbles backward.
One step. Two. Three. The undead knight crashes into the pit. For a moment, victory seems certain. Then laughter is heard as the Bell Keeper starts laughing.
A deep, horrible laugh. As he falls, he raises the giant bell hammer one last time and slams it into the remaining chain. CRACK, the Chain snaps.
The Bell Keeper disappears into the darkness and there is nothing but silence.
The villagers collapse where they stand. The bells fall from their hands.
The little girl closes her eyes and says “Oh no.”
The pit begins glowing.
Not blue. Not green. BUT Red.
A massive hand, larger than a wagon, slowly rises from the darkness followed by a second hand.
Whatever was trapped below is pulling itself up and getting free.
The party now has exactly one round before it emerges.

Adventure Poll #8 - The Thief went of the chains while the party distracted.
The Thief darts through the chaos. The Bell Keeper is too busy smashing gravestones and trying to cave in the Fighter’s skull to notice. The black chains are thicker than expected. Ancientand covered in strange symbols.
The Thief hacks at the first chain.
*CRACK*
The chain snaps, the effect is immediate as the Bell Keeper drops to one knee and blue light in its eye flickers.
The villagers stop ringing their bells and for the first time all night, there is silence.
Suddenly, the ground beneath the graveyard explodes upward as something below roars.
Not undead. Not human. Something much older.
The second chain goes taut. The third chain begins pulling downward into the darkness. The little girl points toward the open pit and says “That’s not what’s trapped, that’s what’s holding the trap shut.”
The entire party freezes as they realized they were never fighting the thing in the graveyard, they were fighting the lock.

Adventure Poll #7 - We had a very clear winner in #6 of the party charging the undead knight! So now let's continue!
The party charges.
The Fighter crashes into the Bell Keeper first, shield raised, sword swinging hard enough to split bone.
The blade hits rusted armor.
CLANG.
The Bell Keeper does not even stagger...The undead knight swings the giant bell hammer sideways.
The Fighter barely blocks it as the impact throws him through a gravestone and explodes into pieces around him!
The Cleric calls out a prayer and holy light flashes across the graveyard. Skeletons recoil. Several collapse into heaps of old bones.
The Thief darts through the chaos, trying to circle behind the Bell Keeper.
Then he notices something horrible....Chains, heavy black chains run from the Bell Keeper's back down into the earth itself.
Like something below the graveyard is holding him upright.
The Magic-User finally remembers the words to Sleep, but realizes it would be pointless to use right now.
the church bell rings again, the sound physically hurts its so loud!
Blood runs from the little girl's ears, several villagers collapse screaming.
Then the ground beneath the Bell Keeper begins cracking open and something huge is heard moving below the earth...
The Bell Keeper raises the hammer and screams, "You should have left this town buried."

Adventure Poll #6 - We have a clear winner, with the Cleric Turning Undead!
The Cleric steps out into the cold night air, his holy symbol trembles in his hand.
The bells keep ringing. Slow. Hollow and Dead sounding...
The villagers do not react as he raises the symbol of his faith.
Then he speaks the words, "Back. In the name of the Light, BACK!"
For one second, nothing happens...then every bell outside stops ringing at once.
Silence.
The villagers begin twitching violently, heads jerk sideways, arms snap unnaturally, several face plant into the dirt. Then suddenly the Cleric feels something pushing back against him, hard. Hundreds of spirts gathering up spiritual energy.. pushing back.
The holy symbol burns white hot in his hand...the graveyard behind the chapel explodes upward, rotting hands coming flying up, out of the dirt as old coffins split open beneath the earth, skeletons drag themselves free.
But something else rises too....
A massive figure in rusted chainmail slowly pulls itself from the largest grave near the dead tree, one eye glows pale blue inside its broken helm, a knight? Or what used to be one.
The little girl screams, "That's him! That's the Bell Keeper!"
The undead knight raises a giant iron bell hammer, the sound of the bells begins again.
LOUDER.
"Are the villagers not undead?" the Fighter screams out-loud.
Something else is controlling them.
