For my fanfic fans who are wondering after the Sparking Zero video I posted a few months ago,
yes I am back.
I'm gonna go back to my roots and post video game footage for a bit. I've recently switched from Windows to Linux so I'm gonna be doing this as practice to get used to different video editing software, and see if I can get at least the same productive workflow that I had before. Once I've gotten this all figured out I will finally finish Fear of Power.
since this feature exists, I thought I'd use it to reach out to all of you, especially because I still get people asking me about things. Since my uploading has been so sporadic and it's not certain whether or not I'll even finish, I'll be open and share some extra information too.
My fanfic series is on an indefinite hold. I would love to finish The Fear of Power saga, or A New Future, maybe even both. At the time though, I have other interests that I'm heavily devoted to. I'm the type of person that doesn't make commitments unless I can give my full 100%, and fanfics are no joke when it comes to the level of effort required to make them good.
I just re-watched my last episode, here are my reflections and what I will do differently if I pick things up again: It was heavy on using mods, and that was such a huge time sink. It'll be toned down. I may be a little less heavy on the fight editing too, there's a point where you're putting in lots of extra time but the quality isn't getting better. A decent amount of my dialogue contradicted what I was attempting to portray with the characters' personalities and the moods of the situations. Things will be much more consistent. Just by fixing these things alone, I should be back to my peak.
The last episode, I introduced a shift in the direction of how fights go. Up until this point, it was about a mixture of power level and skill. However, because we are all a part of nature, we will eventually hit the limits of our raw abilities if we train enough. Yet there will be variation among us, because nature makes all of us a little bit differently. So in this episode, the heroes had maxed out power levels, but unique abilities. What happens then? That's what I would like to explore. This will make the writing much more difficult to pull off effectively, and I'm hoping I can do it without making things too complex. And if I manage to completely conclude this story, which goes beyond this episode, I think you'll appreciate the way it all ties back to the central theme, the "fear of power."
As for A New Future, you saw that I made the humans much stronger compared to the original story. There is something I want to explore in the biology of humans that doesn't exist (or at least, hasn't ever been portrayed) in the Saiyans. I will keep that a secret for now.
If I continue at some point in the future, I will let you know after I've started recording footage. If it's clear that I will never finish, then I will let you know what I had planned.
