She wouldn’t look at me but Katniss got weighed at the vet today & ameowzing news! Her weight is nearly exactly what it was last year (11.72lbs) She is doing great & maintaining, which is a huge victory in the IBD battle! At her lowest/sickest she weighed 8.9lbs. That is a huge swing for a little girl like her!!!
Today is a very sad anniversary for me. Seven years ago, my cat, Maddie, was killed by her veterinarian, whom we had visited for help with major aggression issues. It is a very long story that I made a video about (the first one on my channel and quite depressing to watch…it was done more as a personal project). How things played out, coupled with Maddie’s loss, haunts me to this day. I am honoring her with this post, and later this afternoon will be washing - for the first time in seven years - the blanket she was killed on. I have kept it in its original condition, sitting on a shelf in my closet, since that day. But it’s finally time to move on from that. I want to clean and cuddle that blanket and remember my sweet girl
On a recent meet-and-greet a client wanted to talk politics for more than an hour. I found myself in the awkward position of not really knowing what to do, as this is a topic I purposely avoid in my business life. However, this client was clearly passionate about politics and was asking me direct questions. For better or worse, I answered them and he seemed to really enjoy our discussion (truthfully I did too). I guess this just goes to show that sometimes you are put into situations where you have to act on instinct. You might have a policy, but there can be times when it’s ok to break it. You can’t always anticipate these things and sometimes it’s simply a matter of doing what you, as the business owner, are OK with.
Today I went on a meet-and-greet for a cat who has its very own bedroom at its house! Cat Dad said to me “this is what happens when you have millennial parents with no children, just a dog and cat” 😹😹😹

Tomorrow I am going to Cat Fest Colorado, which is an amazing day-long event for cat lovers celebrating ALL THINGS CAT! I went for the first time in November 2022 & it was pawsome but the event has grown so much since that debut show! It’s so cool! There are Celebrity Cats & people, a Cat Video Cafe, Egyptian Cat Temple with Memory Wall, Loads of Cat Adoption booths, cat vendors, cat history, cat crafts, face painting, Hello Kitty bounce house, pet psychics, TICA Cat Show & more! Video coming soon!!!!

She absolutely loves it! 😽😽😽 This company, best known for its western-style handbags & purses, is venturing into the pet carrier niche. It sent her this carrier in exchange for us taking some photos and video of her using it 📸 They’re looking for a few other cat accounts in the U. S. who’d be interested in doing this (they have multiple styles to choose from and also a backpack version too).
