I understand why some women choose not to get pregnant as they are concerned about the aftereffects of childbirth. Pregnancy definitely changes a woman's body and health. I even acquired an illness while pregnant. ​I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I had blood work done in the first week and it came out normal. However, a routine blood test during the second trimester showed a change in the results. I took thyroid medication throughout my pregnancy. I also experienced terrible morning sickness. I had trouble keeping food down cos I threw up a lot. This improved during the third trimester. I had a high-risk pregnancy. I gave birth prematurely (2 months early). I felt that I couldn't carry a full-term pregnancy. I got worried it might happen again with the second pregnancy.

​My body has never been the same since. I still have hypothyroidism and I thought it would improve after giving birth but it didn't. I used to have a regular menstrual cycle but after delivery, it became irregular. In 2022, I missed my period for eight months while I was taking the thyroid medication. I decided to stop taking it (I don't like taking any medication) but I still have an irregular period. Hair loss is worsening as well. I'm surprised I'm not bald yet. I didn't have these symptoms before childbirth.

​I have also had trouble maintaining my weight and a hard time getting back to my normal pre-pregnancy weight. I think I weighed 124 lbs before I got pregnant. I currently weigh 164 lbs. I gained 3 lbs in one month (I was 161 lbs last month). I've even minimized my rice intake. I don't exercise, though. The only physical activity I do is going for walks. However, it's been so cold these days (it's not even winter yet) so I haven't been walking. 😅 I should start doing workouts at home.

If you ask me if I still want to get pregnant again, I would still do it. I don't mind the changes in my body or health. It's my dream to raise kids. If I couldn't conceive, I would adopt kids.

Bisan gani naa na koy trabaho og kaugalingon pamilya, di japun bongga ang noche buena. Simple ra kaayo. Normal ra nga adlaw nga magluto para makakaon. Way handa. Para asa pa? Importante makakaon sa pang-adlaw². Importante naay makaon.

Pero kahibaw mo kinsa ang wa mangreklamo? Ang mga yanong pobre. Kahibaw ko mapasalamaton na sila kay naay mahanda bisan ginagmay.

"I've unlocked the 32nd level of my life."


​I woke up at 1:37 AM farting in the middle of the night. Afterward, I went to the bathroom with diarrhea. I went back to sleep and after an hour, I woke up with a stomachache. I went to the toilet again and then began to vomit. I kept farting while throwing up. I fell back asleep for the second time and woke up with my stomach gurgling quite loudly. My stomach also felt burny. I threw up three more times and still had the shits.

​Then, I remembered it was my birthday today. Why now? Out of the blue! I think I caught a stomach bug. My hubby suspected he had it for days now. He had started to get stomach cramps on Friday. I didn't believe he got the stomach bug because he hadn't thrown up or had any other symptoms.

​I told my hubby to tend to our son for school this morning because I felt unwell and my stomach was still hurting. I woke up around 10:30 AM, got up and washed the dishes from last night. I had slept earlier last night because I was quite exhausted. Then, I started boiling water for the spaghetti pasta as I wanted to cook Filipino spaghetti. I also folded Sven's clothes. I made the spaghetti while doing the laundry. I was glad my stomach stopped gurgling and I wasn't nauseous anymore.

​Our son came home from school around 3:30 PM. I planned to make the instant boxed cookies with him. He had fun making them. He said it was for me because it was my birthday. I started frying the chicken legs after he finished making the cookies. I told my hubby to buy Coca-Cola. If you are a Filipino, you should have figured it out by now! Ahahaha! I wanted to eat spaghetti and fried chicken with Coke on my birthday. They're the usual food Filipinos eat on occasions like this. I wanted lumpia but we didn't have ground meat. I also cooked Maja Blanca (a dessert). It's like a coconut pudding with corn. It's yummy! One of my favorite desserts.

​Our neighbor Chris stopped by for a bit. He tried the Filipino spaghetti (I used Filipino sauce) and said it was good. I told him that we cook spaghetti sweet in the Philippines. I used to like it sweet but my palate changed after living in the US. Hubby doesn't eat Filipino spaghetti. Haha! So, I added beef bouillon to the spaghetti. It made the spaghetti a bit salty but the sweetness was still there. The bacon I added made it a bit smoky. We didn't have hotdogs or ground meat so I used canned corned beef and some bacon instead. It was still good. It was my first meal of the day. My head was hurting while I was busy doing these things.

​It felt good to lay down on the couch, watching the movie Without a Paddle. The movie is hilarious. I plan to finish reading the book The Time Traveler's Wife tonight. I only have a few pages left. I can't wait to read Rebel Angels by Libba Bray. I read the first book, A Great and Terrible Beauty, 12 years ago. It took me 12 years to find the second book. Actually, my sister-in-law found it and lent the book to me. She made my year! 💛 So, I'll end my birthday reading.

​The weather was gloomy and rainy today so we just stayed inside the apartment. It'll be better tomorrow, and we plan to go out for a walk and practice shooting with the slingshot. Our son only has a half-day of school tomorrow and then he won't have school for six days (including weekends). It's a long Thanksgiving weekend for the butthead.


​I've unlocked level 32 of my life today!

Words are incredibly powerful. That's why you should be careful with what you say.

It's been 12 years since she said that but it still has a big impact on my life. We might lose touch but I've been holding on to her encouragement for years. I'm still writing even if I don't have consistent readers. I will keep writing even without readers. I write for myself. I hope to have something to look back on when I'm older and no longer able to write.

In 2010, I started chatting with foreigners who were into Kpop like me. We became friends for a year or two then we lost touch. I remember we used to chat on GoKpop and JpopAsia websites. I'm still into Kpop and Jpop but the websites have long been gone. I think of my virtual friends from time to time. I wonder how they have been. I'm still in contact with one but we rarely chat. I'm fine with that. Life happens. I just hope they are all doing well in life. ☺️

Now, I don't know how to befriend people online. 😅 It gets harder when you are older. You get busier and sometimes find it tough to keep up virtually. People want more attention and if you can't give it, they get cold. It wasn't the case a long time ago. I normally went to the Internet cafe (computer shop) to rent a PC for an hour or two and I'd be gone for quite some time. My virtual friends would just wait patiently for my response. We were fine with the setup. People seemed to have more patience back then. I can't say the same in today's generation. 😅 People were fine not knowing what their virtual friend looked like (at least for me. I'm still fine talking with people without knowing what they look like.) Now, some people demand a pic or two to keep talking.

Things constantly evolve. Behaviors shift. Adapting is inevitable. It's better to go with the flow and accept how things are now. What was great in the past, might be obsolete in the present. The future will unfold in its own time.

I know that I have an accent when speaking English cos I don't hide it but I know that it's only lightly accented. 😅 I don't care if I have an accent so long as people can understand me, then I'm good. 😂 People gotta know that everyone has an accent and that makes us unique. ☺️ So, ignore the naysayers. 🤣

No one asked me to film the baby shower and create a (compiled) video but it's my present for them. ☺️ I did it willingly as I remembered my baby shower 6 years ago and luckily someone filmed it. It was Nichole. It was a short one but I was grateful she took the time to take a video cos it never occurred to me. 😅 She took tons of photos as well. 💛 Megan hosted it and prepared everything for us. It was such an unforgettable experience. I had the best people in my life. I still have the log of the people who attended it.

It's been ages since I last colored! I've always loved coloring! 💛
One of hubby's friends gave me this coloring book. She had tons of them so she gave me one. She borrowed a book from me and she didn't return it. I didn't mind. I like giving books.

My 5-year-old son helped me choose the colors for the first picture. He wanted to color by himself after that. Good thing we have another one he could practice coloring. He didn't want to color his coloring books but only this kind. 😂 He isn't fond of coloring so his coloring books are unused. 😅
