I’m deeply saddened by the passing of @acefrehleyofficial of @kissonline .
From his playing, I learned everything — bending, riff phrasing, and the true spirit of rock.
As a character, I was more drawn to Paul Stanley, but the phrases I always chose came from Ace.
Even though the music I make today may sound far from his style, his influence runs through everything I do.
The very first electric guitar I ever bought was a Les Paul Custom — entirely because of Ace Frehley.
Since 2003, I’ve attended several KISS shows in Japan, but unfortunately, Ace had already left the band.
Among all KISS members, he was the only one I never got to see live.
Still, the roots of everything I’ve learned as a guitarist come from him.
Rest in peace, Ace Frehley. You will forever be my hero.


KISSのエース・フレーリーが亡くなって、とても悲しいです。
彼のプレイから、ギターのチョーキング、リフの弾き方、そして“ロックとは何か”という感覚まで、すべてを学びました。
キャラクターとしてはポール・スタンレーが好きでしたが、いつも自分が選ぶフレーズはエース・フレーリーのものでした。
今の私の音楽とは一見かけ離れているように聞こえるかもしれませんが、彼の影響はあらゆるところに生きています。

初めて自分で買ったエレキギターはレスポール・カスタム。
それも間違いなく、エース・フレーリーの影響でした。

中1の頃念願の2003年来日公演、何度かKISSの日本公演を観に行きましたが、残念ながらそのときには彼はすでに脱退しており、KISSのメンバーの中で唯一、生で見ることができなかったのが彼でした。

それでも、私のギタリストとしてのすべてのルーツは、エース・フレーリーにあります。
心からご冥福をお祈りします。
