At the SoyaCincau Pop-up EV Clinic: Track Edition, Malaysia's first EV track day, Amin Ashaari took the Ioniq 5 N around Sepang International Circuit for his first drive. With just 5 laps, he proved the car is no slouch, even under non-ideal conditions.

📊 Unofficial lap time: 2:37.991
🥉 Position on official timing sheet: 5th overall
🔋 Battery SOC: Started below 50%, finished ~20%
🛞 Tyres: Worn (leading to sliding corners, missed apexes, and sub-optimal lines)

For context, the Exotic Mods Tesla Model 3 Performance that night was fully track-prepped with slicks, upgraded brakes, and suspension. And yet, the Ioniq 5 N, completely stock, was just 4 seconds off.

Amin reckons that with slick tyres and a higher SOC battery, this stock EV could easily dip into the 2:35 range.
Regardless, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is officially the 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐄𝐕 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐠, showing that EV thrills aren’t just hype, but they’re real on the track.
