Sridhar Venkat is also known as Srikara Govinda Dasa, disciple of Vishva Guru Srila Prabhupada, who is the CEO of world's largest NGO-run school meal program - The Akshaya Patra Foundation

Born in 1968 in Nagpur, he grew up in a Shaivite family while his mother, Krishna Priya Devi Dasi, embraced Krishna consciousness later. After earning an Electrical Engineering degree from Karad and a Master's in Marketing Management from NMIMS Mumbai, he began a promising corporate career at Phillips & ABB. Everything seemed set—until life prepared him for a journey no one could have imagined.

In 1993, a simple craving for the famous ISKCON Juhu samosas brought him to the temple for the very first time. But behind that casual visit was a spiritually inquisitive heart, always searching for deeper meaning. In 1997, he moved to Bengaluru, unknowingly settling just 1 KM from ISKCON Bangalore. His wife too embraced Krishna consciousness and became Jyotirmayi Radha Devi Dasi.There, under the affectionate guidance of HG Madhu Pandit Prabhu and HG Chanchalapathi Prabhu, who cared for his family like their own, one life-changing question from HG Madhu Pandit Prabhu altered his destiny forever: ”Why are you building empires for others? Build for Krishna's children!"

With just 15 days of usable reserves, Akshaya Patra became India’s largest public-funded charity—spending ₹ 3 crore daily, winning the ICAI Gold Shield for 5 consecutive years, and earning Great Place to Work certification 10 times & many more achievements.

His thought for Akshaya Patra is driven by a simple philosophy: “If you can create an organization where people find their purpose, happiness becomes a byproduct.”
