I’ve wanted to say this for a long time, and honestly, I’m done staying quiet.

As an ARMY, I’m tired of this constant expectation that ARMYs have to be perfect. Every other fandom can be angry, can criticize, can drag BTS, can say whatever they want, but the moment an ARMY responds, suddenly we’re the problem.

“ARMYs are toxic.”
“ARMYs should ignore it.”
“BTS wouldn’t want this.”
“You’re not a real ARMY.”
“Just stream and vote.”
“You’re doing this for views.”

BRO. I’M TIRED.

Since the day I became an ARMY, it feels like there’s always another rule for us. We’re expected to behave like angels while everyone else gets to say whatever they want about BTS.
And let me make something very clear: I am a human being.
If someone genuinely criticizes BTS with facts, fine. We can discuss it. But when people make things up, spread misinformation, drag BTS for literally anything, or throw serious accusations at them without evidence, I’m not going to sit there and pretend I’m not allowed to respond.
And no, replying does not automatically mean I’m a “fake ARMY.”
Some ARMYs defend BTS by streaming.
Some vote.
Some educate people.
Some correct misinformation.
Some make videos.
Some call out hypocrisy.
Defending BTS does not have one single format.
And please stop telling me to “just praise BTS” whenever someone attacks them.
I HAVE praised BTS.

I have talked about their achievements. Their music. Their impact. Their donations. Their contribution to Korean culture and the global growth of K-pop. I have spent years supporting them.

But if someone is making a false accusation against BTS, why am I supposed to respond with, “BTS are amazing 🥺💜”?

That isn't how every situation works.
Sometimes defending someone means addressing the actual accusation.
And yes, sometimes ARMYs will call out another idol or fandom when there is hypocrisy involved. You can disagree with how someone responds without declaring them “not ARMY.”
Also, before someone comes here with “just stream and vote”:
I DO.
I vote whenever I get access to a phone. I stream when I can. I’ve made posts about it. I’m doing what I can.
I don’t even have my own personal phone. My mom recently deleted Spotify because my exams start on September 15, and right now I have to focus on studying too.
So please don’t sit behind a screen and decide whether I’m a good enough ARMY based on how many hours I stream.
And no, I’m not making this video for views.
If you genuinely believe that, you’re free to believe it. I can’t control what story you create in your head.

What I CAN say is this:
Stop putting every single rule on ARMYs.

If you expect people to respect your idols, then respect BTS too.
If you want people to stop dragging your faves, then stop dragging ours.
If you want ARMYs to respond respectfully, then maybe stop expecting us to remain completely silent while BTS are being attacked.

You don't have to agree with every ARMY's response.

But you also don't get to decide who is and isn't an ARMY just because they don't react the way YOU would.

I’ve ignored enough.

I’m not saying every ARMY response is automatically right. I’m saying we are human beings, not fandom robots.

If you want to support what I’m saying, stay.
If you don’t, you can leave.
But I’m done explaining myself.
