My handle is still @benanderson89 as that's the handle I've been using since 2006, but the *name* I use all over the internet and have done for a decade at this point is "GinGin" (because Ginger Rat, because furry, get it?). I'm undecided if musical releases going forward will say "Ben Anderson" or "GinGin" on them; I guess it depends on the theme I decide upon.
I was browsing reverb, as a synth-nerd does, and there's a company in Stroud, England, called Dex Audio who are manufacturing NEW St Albans pads and SDS-V Tom-Tom modules! I am unbelievably tempted. I wonder if there's would be a method to plop the Simmon's modules into a Euro-Rack style case. 🤔
Scored an excellent condition Kawai K4 digital synthesizer for some of that sweet, sweet early 90s PCM jank. Decent price because the left audio channel has dropped out completely.
Turns out, after probing at it incessantly with a scope and meter, that the volume slider is missing a carbon trace. Like... it's just completely gone.
Good news is that I don't have to de-solder anything from the motherboard!
