Well...this isn't easy but it's honest so here goes...
John's Watch Joint is not a big channel but it has always had a small but dedicated following.

When I started out in this hobby I just wanted to share my passion for watches, but YouTube being the way it is, things developed pretty quickly and I found myself buried in work rather than the hobby itself.
Other reviewers will know exactly what I'm talking about.

I was putting video after video together on a timeline that wasn't my own, reviewing watches sent in, rather than watches I actually wanted to show you.
Sure it was showing me that I could make a decent living doing things this way but that is not why I started the channel and I felt that doing it too long this way would compromise my integrity. I couldn't let that happen.

After 18 months I was burnt out and the constant desk work was playing hell with my back and joint problems. These problems have now become acute.
I have tried to get back on board but watching what is happening in the niche on the platform is pretty awful to see. The integrity of some of the people I used to respect is long gone.
Watch reviews on YouTube are no longer honest and the rise of AliExpress, constant AE sales and tweaked commission opportunities have played a massive part in that.
Each video is now just a blatant list of watches they want you to buy. Some reviewers have never even touched these watches.
We recently nearly lost Molly due to a severe bacterial infection a couple of weeks back and that really changed my perspective on things.
My wife is retiring in a few months time and I have taken the decision to undertake a full time training regime to get fit and strong long- term so as to give us the chance of a long and happy retirement.
I am sad it's happened but I thank you all for the support you have given me over this last three years.
We are living in very strange times. Please look after yourselves and maybe one day I'll let you know how it turned out for us.

Hi guys. The good news is that I feel well enough to start making content again and Mols is back to her spritely self with no relapse after her bacterial infection. Neither we nor the vet have any idea what caused it but personally I think it was gastro intestinal and was probably a critter she ate!
The bad news, two of the watches I got in for review have had to be returned. I bought them myself and both had bad QC issues. Not something I have been used to on AliExpress....but nonetheless very inconvenient.
Look out for content over the next week or so.

To those of you sending me sh***y messages and emails just because I have kept you updated on Mols close call, all I can say is good riddance!
Molly is a huge part of this channel and there are amazing people in this community.
In that regard I'm glad you cleared yourself out, leaving the rest of those who enjoy my content to carry on as normal.
The last two weeks have been awful. To try to troll someone who is going through such a tough time is subhuman. You are the worst of the worst.

Molly off meds. Back to normal and even playing Hide n Seek! Through all of this I just wore a watch that was grab and go. A Timex Expedition. These things make you question why you need an expensive time-telling device. It does the same thing after all.
Regarding the channel, I have a lot of physical work to get through in order to get mobile again but I'll keep you posted. Molly's Back 😺🙏
