Lesson of the Day 🔥
GTAW Breakdown (TIG Welding)
Slow is smooth. Smooth is clean.
Today we’re locking in torch angle, puddle control, and filler timing—the fundamentals that separate running a bead from understanding the process.
This is where patience turns into precision.
This is where students level up.

I’ve seen a few comments about PPE — why one student had this color, why another didn’t have boots on, small details like that.
Let me be clear: there’s no shortage of safety and there’s no one complaining.
We’re using what we have, we’re operating responsibly, and our students are safe.
This is a real program, with real people, built with real resources — not perfection, but purpose.
That said, if you feel moved to help instead of critique, we’re always open and appreciative of donations. PPE, boots, gloves, helmets — anything that helps our students continue learning safely is welcomed. And yes, we will absolutely show appreciation to those who support the mission.

Support is welcome. Respect is expected.

Little Rock born.
Denver raised.
McGehee shaped me.
I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, while my parents were living in Arkansas City. Not long after, we moved to Denver, Colorado — that’s where I really grew up. My first school, first friends, preschool, kindergarten… Denver was home in every way that mattered.
After kindergarten, life brought me back to Arkansas, and I started going back and forth. Eventually, that path led to incarceration. And if I’m being honest, even though I love McGehee, love my family, and respect the culture, I’ve always felt like an outsider there. I never quite felt like I belonged — but I still embraced it.
Denver was different for me. It was ride-or-die. Real love. Community. I didn’t experience racism there the way I later did in Arkansas. I didn’t learn betrayal from friends until I came back south.
That’s just my truth — not a knock on either place.
My first daughter was born in Denver. After I got out of prison in 2006, I sent for her and brought her to Arkansas, where she grew up. Life later took her back to Denver to bury her mother. So my roots run deep in both places.
That’s why I wear the Denver hat — not just for the Broncos — but for the roots.
And McGehee? That’s where I learned the country, the pace, the people. I may move like a city dude and think fast, but I carry both worlds.
I don’t choose one over the other.
I represent both.
Denver 🤝 McGehee
City & country.
Both made me who I am.

They used to run a commercial that said, “You can learn a lot from a dummy.”
They stopped saying it… probably because feelings got involved.
But the truth still stands.
You can learn a lot from someone who’s experienced something—even if they don’t fully understand what they experienced.
That’s why I teach.
That’s why I listen.
That’s why the lab matters.
